Having in issues with my camera and light. This happened once or twice previously with this 10 month old unit. Previously I rebooted the printer and/or pc, and the issues was fixed. Not so this time. Camera has not working for about 2 weeks. When I press the light button on the control panel, the light icon briefly
pops up, but doesn’t stay on and the light does not illuminate. Light will not
come on via the Handy app, or the Bambu Studio software on my pc. I’ve tried the following.
rebooted printer, power cycled it.
updated firmware
rebooted handy app
rebooted pc and bambu studio software.
would a factory reset possibly fix anything? Any helpful tips appreciated.
Yeah, the factory reset did not work. thanks
It’s such a crappy camera, not sure it’s worth $29.00
to get another one. lol Will have to look at other options.
thanks
Our machine has just come up with this error. It has also just done a software update to 01.05.00.00, the timing of which seems a bit suspicious.
Anyone else seen this?
I have rebooted, and checked the connection as above, but not factory reset as yet.
Mine has the same problem.
Ramdomsly works fine, sometimes need to power off/on, and sometimes nothing works. Cables are fine.
Firmware 01.05 or downgrade to 01.04 do the same.
Interesting that 1.06 came out the day after 1.05, but I installed that and it still doesn’t go. Then I factory reset it - still not going.
Ours has the same thing with the light. Tapping the onscreen icon briefly flashes the icon, but the light never goes.
Mine also stopped working, both light and camera. reboot and replugging cable doesn’t work.
what I did is completely remove the camera module, spray some ipa alcohol on both side of the pcb and blow really hard on it to clean any dirt, then replug and it works.
So you aren’t just unplugging the camera cable, you are removing the entire thing? Previously i unplugged the camera cable, gave it a blow with air, and then it worked. It’s not working this time. LOL. It’s annoying to not be able to monitor a print.
Just an update on this. I ordered a replacement camera. I got a notification it was in-store a few days later, and that day, the original started working again. The light even works now.
I did nothing to it. It’s possible, but unlikely that someone else did.
So - we now have a spare camera…
I have not submitted a support ticket, last time i did i was told to check the cable, then buy a new camera. Not very helpful to be honest. I’m not wanting to spend $30 for a new camera to have that one fail in a few weeks.
I also don’t want to buy that $30 camera, as Indonesian, that’s like 20% of our monthly salary, mine worked fine until new fw update. My machine is around 500hours total print time.
My worry is that i buy a new camera, and then it doesn’t work either. I think it
has something to do with software updates, because quite a few people have reported having the same exact issue.
The camera is so bad, it has always been hit and miss, often requiring constant replugs or reboots, however just recently the camera stopped working at all, not even after my previous fixes, tested my brother’s camera on my printer and it also doesn’t work (however my camera on his A1 works fine, I have A1 mini), I took the bottom cover in and probed every solder point of the camera to check for any shorts or breaks in the cable, all perfect, the camera only works for me when I spray ipa on the cable and camera port, give the camera a few replugs and it’s back in business…however the camera stops working completely after rebooting the printer, I really don’t understand what is wrong with the camera, I suspect a firmware fault since it’s impossible for the camera to magically stop working after rebooting the printer, without even touching the cable
I contacted bambu lab wiblth similar information, they told me
1st reply = get new cable buddy, we don’t sell the cable or know what the cable is called, good luck
2nd reply = get a new camera for £20
3rd reply = get new motherboard, for only £50
Useless support, I’m gonna get a h2s soon to be free from this haunted camera
