Today, I wanted to start a print with PLA-Glow , so I swapped my 0.4mm nozzle to a hardened 0.4mm.
Launched the calibration tests (noise, vibration, bed levelling), no problem.
Then I started the print, and after the starting processs all was good, then , 3 minutes after printingg, the printer suddenly goes OFF (like if you turned it OFF manually).
No more power… (it’s not the first time I had this issue, but now I wanted to post it here, for some help/advice)
The printer wasn’t hot, wich could maybe be something that could cause this issue…
To answer that, we’d need to know exactly what you mean by “off”: Is it completely powered down, or are the LEDs still on, at least?
If the printer stops printing but the LEDs are still on, it may be due to a defective SD card. The printer is having trouble reading the file and stops printing midway through the job. Fortunately, you can quickly check this by using a different SD card.
If, on the other hand, the printer shuts down completely - meaning even the LEDs go out - there could be many possible causes, ranging from the power supply board to the control board.
Of course, this raises the question: If you’ve had this problem for two months now, have you already contacted support? Is your warranty still valid?
I dealt with this a few months ago. For me, and for you based upon the exact scenario you are describing, the motherboard was short-circuiting and shutting the printer off by itself.
It happens sometimes, in two months I’d say 5 times ~
The printer goes totally OFF, no more power at all, LEDs are off too. Only way to wake the printer up , is to push the power switch on the back (off, then on)
It’s not the SD card cause I use the printer with the wify (it’s boring to switch the card every time you want to print)
I didn’t contacted support, and my printer is now 1year and 7months old. (iirc i got it November 2024)
Just a quick reminder that the SD card is always in use, even when you’re using Wi-Fi. This is where your transferred data is stored. If the SD card is defective, your printer will no longer be able to print - or stops in the middle of printing.
However, since you said that the LED turns off too, the problem is probably with the electronics. You should therefore contact support immediately. These are problems that you shouldn’t ignore.
This is especially important if you have an A1 (not an A1 mini), as these are known to short circuit and burn out. You don’t need to panic, but you should definitely take care of this issue rather than ignoring it for months.

As you says, I’ll contact support this weekend, and see what they could do to solve the problem.
I hope they can do something to replace it, without having to wait severals weeks or months.
