A1 Recall ……

This failure on the Bambu Lab A1 is just part of the flow when it comes to 3D printing, anyone that has been in 3D printing for the past decade has experienced far greater problems than a cable shorting. On my Enders I am so used to getting a light electrical shock from the machine due to the bad earthing, I have had PCB’s burn out for no reason. How many hot bed plates I replaced due to hot end just grinding into them for no reason at all. Had the printer stop printing on a 5 day print or running into the print at the end of the print destroying your print. There have been reports of houses burning down due to 3D printers setting alight and the manufacturers just carry on supplying the same old defective machines and do not take any responsibility for their inferior equipment. BL has acknowledged their problem on the A1 and is making a plan to sort it out, for a Chinese based company I have to take my hat off to them. Well done BL keep up the good work. This market is very competitive and to keep a step ahead of the competition a product will be passed by QC like the A1 occasionally. If you guys followed the release of the Creality K1 and all of the issues they had with the extruder and filament getting stuck in the PTFE tube and how they basically sent a unfinished product out to the market to be tested by us the public. They never handled that crisis as well as what BL has and they are still in business. The BL machines are like going from the Ford Model T to a Ford Ranger, compared to the other domestic printers out there in the same price range.

The shipping cost on returns issue really needs to be addressed. Ain’t no one shipping the printer back if it’s at customers’ own cost.

I’m tring to make this choice too. What I wonder is whether there might be any additional revisions/improvements in the revised A1 that might address something not highlighted already like this heated issue.

In that case, would we be better off with a full return and refund and then buying a revised A1? What if there is something else a little bit off about the original A1 that hasn’t come out into public record but that Bambu Lab know about and choose to fix in the background. Obviously if it’s a safety thing of this importance then it might prompt a recall, but it could just be a more minor thing they make better…

I am wondering what you put in order number recall registration? And what happens to all the add ons i purchased at the same time? As i did a support ticket to ask but they skipped over it and gave me the standard li8ke to the recall page! sent a new ticket and still waiting on response.

Yes, maybe they add small improvements. But it might as well go the other way, that they add “improvements” that make it cheaper to manufacture.

Anyhow, I went with option two, and will continue printing (under supervision) until replacement bed arrives (or something else happens, as of now the cable is flawless and stays cool while printing.)

I took my back to micro center and purchased an X1.

thats not the main power cable, its likely stepped down to a lot less that 230, plus its not the voltage thats the issue its the amps, less amps means smaller cable. its likely only using a couple of amps at max heating.

I am 100% returning this thing, ever since they rolled out the new update my printer has given me issues saying that the nozzle is covered in filament or that the bed is crooked when neither of these is true

Quita la guía de alineación de la placa de impresión que has puesto en la cama como personalización/mejora. Está interfiriendo con la deteccion de “spagueti”.

Hello I’ve submitted the tequest to replace my A1 opening ticket as they request. After 1 week I’m still waiting for a response. I’m wondering if I’ve to wait their response to return the printer or if I’ve to proceed still

I just want to confirm Bambu do cover the cost of shipping, i recieved my return ticket last week i returned it on tbe 7th but not heard anything since (but know from the tracking they have received it)

Has anyone in the UK had their refund processed yet?

Returned mine last week and it was delivered on Tuesday. Curious on lead times as I want to order a P1P to replace but obviously with the discount.

Here in Germany I’ve submitted on June 7th that I want to return the A1 but until know no ticket update with the information how to go forward and where to send (not talking about a return stamp).

Well so 8 days of the promissed 15 days are already gone.

Same here - ticket is opened and it says “in progress” but no “progress” so far.

No it’s every single A1. Those who don’t have the issue will develop it over time.

That is disappointing. I received my shipping label around 2 days after submitting my claim (UK).

Hope it get’s resolved quickly for you

Same, my A1 arrived back at their UK warehouse on Monday but no updates since.
I want to hopefully stack the recall discount code with the 10% CNY discount on the A1 Mini.
But I’m guessing they will send the codes out after the CNY discount ends

Well I’m in the UK and have two units to return with a ticket sat open since the 5th Feb… no communication, no returns labels, really disappointing.

Just checking, has anyone in the EU region received their return slip yet?

Yes, I (Gütersloh, Germany) received mine the day before yesterday and the package arrived at the intermediate station today for inspection.
I submitted my application on February 5th.
