So do you not have confidence in your design then? Going by your own words that’s what I’m hearing, deflecting by calling someone “butthurt” isn’t helping your case here.
I’ll remove them. Thanks for reminding me about it, there’s another one I did for someone on Reddit, I’ve forgotten about them, to be honest.
That is the way copyright works, it doesn’t offer that much protection, it is not a patent, you are copyrighting the exact design. Almost any little difference will get around a copyright.
I know it doesn’t always make sense what makerworld is doing. That’s a separate problem, certainly. Believe me, I’m not supportive of their decision to still feature models that only have rendered images. There’s a number of issues within the models I can identify and point out.
A number of those designers too though have cultivated a certain branding and look though, and I think this has more to do with why Makerworld lets some of those pass. They provide more of a complete package for what Makerworld wants reflected on their platform.
I know it’s a bitter thing at times. I will still advocate for the need of actual printed models though, when print profiles are provided. I will continue to advocate too that if only raw files are uploaded, that it shouldn’t be required to have a print picture.
Yep, knew you would. Now it is too bad that one person who may have really needed that MODEL will miss out. I agree with the others that MODELs should not have to have a printed picture, but zealots like you have pushed Makerworld to take a myopic view of things now…
Exactly my opinion as well.
Backpedalling is a great sign of not having a hill to stand on in my experience.
Nope. If you take the STL file of a copyright worthy design and add, for example, a text, logo or nub here and there, it is still copyright infringement in almost all countries. That’s the kind of change I mean.
booneco3d isn’t back peddling. The first thing booneco3d posted about was an object being taken down that didn’t have a print profile.
Now they are taking down Models without physical prints shown? I understand on Print Profiles as they prefer to have them tested, but models? There isn’t even a button to say it has been print tested (only shows up if you upload a 3mf file).
It’s just that realization in a heated moment of words where it’s like, oh, we’re trying to argue the same thing.
I believe they were talking about NUKDDD doing the backpedaling…
@JuneBerry would you be fine showing one of the objects you’re talking about? A little extra context could be nice. We get people that spam-post models, and you have to understand how frustrating and disruptive it can be for everyone else.
Correct, I wasn’t referring to you, just the quoted comment
Ahh, my bad.
Here’s some extra text so it wont complain about not enough characters.
I’m not sure if we agree on the meaning of backpedaling. Removing something to comply with what I’m believe isn’t backpedaling, which is why someone was confused by what you wrote.
Seems I can’t embed pictures or links here, any suggestions?
If you read the message that’s explicitly not why they were confused.
If I wrote “Ok you win, renders only is fine” then that would be backpedaling. Removing everything that only has renders is standing for what I believe in, which is the opposite of backpedaling. But English is my second language so…
You’re still classified as a “New User”. You can post pictures, links and new topics when you move to “Basic User”. Looking at your profile you need to read another 4 topics as you have only read this topic.
This is like when adults talk about you when you’re a kid right in front of you, as if you’re not right there
But seriously, yeah what Jon said! Or you can try and send me a direct message?
I agree, and I will add that Bambu is trying to be a printer for people that aren’t 3D printing people. I have seen at least 5 different posts on social media asking what filament Collecticraft (or however he spells it) is using to get his vases/sculptures to look so great. It’s a bit of bait and switch because people are seeing a perfect render and thinking they can get that.
