When two or more people make a model together, they have to choose someone to upload it since they can’t both upload the model without one getting taken down. I think that having an option to have multiple people split the points and boosts from a model would encourage collaborating with other people.
(Related: Teams)
That’s a great suggestion! Collaboration is a huge part of creativity, and having a built-in way to credit multiple contributors would make MakerWorld a more welcoming space for team efforts. It would also prevent issues where one person has to take sole ownership of a shared project.
Maybe there could be an option to list collaborators when uploading a model, with an agreed-upon split of points and boosts. This could work similarly to how some design platforms handle co-authored work. Plus, custom packaging and product design often involve multiple creators—whether it’s designers, engineers, or marketing teams—so a feature like this would be a great way to recognize everyone involved.
Great minds think alike! I really do think it would be something awesome for them to implement.
I’d also really like to see collaboration options, I’ve shared my thoughts in a similar discussion:
I would also love to see a collaborator option. There are so many designs and ideas of mine that only made it so far and then I hit a wall of some reason. Either my skill set in certain areas isn’t good enough, I’m just unsure how to proceed or I’m not happy with the result. Right now, I’m knee deep in a massive tabletop dungeon crawler and sure I can have AI do certain things, but it would be great if I could find a sculptor to collaborate with instead.
An unrelated issue I have is that ideas don’t stop coming in. There are certain ideas that I know I will never get to, so I try and share those whenever possible with the hope that I’ll be scrolling through MakerWorld and see that someone took the idea and ran with it…
Purchase Black, White, Blue and Yellow TPU for AMS (if you don’t own them already), model a shoe that looks like a Subaru Impreza and name your model the Shoebaru. That model will get boosted to the moon.

I hate it, but you’re right, i would settle for being able to just list other users who have helped or who provided suggestions or feedback/testing as a first step as i currently have to do it manually in the description and there is no guarantee that anyone is going to pay attention to it
If they added a collab system it would also be cool to have the item listed under all of the added usernames, so if me and x make a model and i upload it and it says i did it with x that it also shows up in the model list when looking at x’s profile, although this is more of an advanced ask
