Any suggestions as to why the ‘Add Pause’ line is greyed out in the menu when I right click on the RH slider in the preview tab? I’m using Orca slicer, and trying to pause the print to change filament colour for the raised lettering on the top of the print.
The greyed out options are only available, if the mouse pointer is over the dots with the plus sign. At your screenshot, select “Jump to layer” and after this, you should be able to select “Add Pause” at this layer.
Thanks for your reply. I did have the mouse pointer on the dot with the plus sign but I had to move it to frame the screenshot.
I just tried it again - right click on plus sign, left click on jump to layer, select layer, then right click on plus sign again. Still greyed out unfortunately.
I’ve tested it with Orca Slicer and it works like expected. Can you create a new Orca Slicer Window, create an object (e.g. Benchy), slice it and check again.
Yes, I did that, same result though. I’m using a Mac, do you think that would make a difference?
I’m using Mac too.
I think you might have to drag the right “thermometer” layer selector to the desired layer and then the other items may become available, they don’t make sense at 100% when the print is already done.
It seems to me that it depends how many plates are in use. I just closed the open project and opened a new one with only one plate occupied and all four menu items are now available. Happy days.
Thanks all.

I just had the same problem again and noticed I had the slicer set to Global. Changed to Objects and Pause became available. I suspect this was my problem all along.
We all live and learn … Thanks to all that helped.
Also make sure you have it set to printing by layer and not print by object that was my issue
Yes, that’s what it was.
Thanks for your response.
It should be possible to use this pause function even when printing “by object”…
This too was my problem. But I also agree with @GranMathias - pausing should also by possible for By Object prints.
If you go under “Global” settings, scroll down a bit and find “Special Mode”. Under Special Mode you will find a setting labeled “Print Sequence”, this setting needs to be set to “By Layer”.
