Here’s a suggestion to reduce some frustration and complains about shipping delays during big sales and/or holiday shopping season.
In these times, shipping delays are expected. However, it is still helpful for Bambu Lab to put a notice, in bold, during the checkout process to warn customers about shipping delays. The warning should be shown when a customer opens the cart, and once again when it reaches the Shipping section of the checkout process.
I will say from what i know so far. My guess is that they don’t have the stock they say they have. More about the printers than the filament. It was much better if instead they were honest and said “hey, we are out of stock but don’t worry” or something like that.
They sold lots of machines and filament in the Black Friday sales and instead of recovering, the minute that one sale ended, they made another, still without enough stock and while still fulfilling older orders.
The German warehouse is 4 hours away from me but i have a friend that is a few kilometers away and i asked him if he could take a look at the movement there… yeah, not much movement at all from what he said.
All orders that ship from the warehosue Germany are presented as fulfilled with an electronic tracking number until they get picked up by the transport. That means that if they sent that number to the transport company, they would pick them up. Soi did my part and called the company and they said they have no orders to pick up until they say “come and pick it up”.
I didn’t say the delay was from the delivery companies only. It could be both.
In my last order though, it took 8 days for BL to create a shipping label. I got the items two days after that, which was normal for the delivery. So in that case, the delay was 100% at BL.
I have seen items that I want shown as out of stock. So the inventory management system that they use seems to be working. It’s more a matter of when BL staff can pack the order and create a shipping label.
The thing is that Bambu has shipment delays not jut during peak times, like black Friday or Xmas sales or alike. They’ve been having those recurring shipment issues for months, even going back to a year or so. Add on top of that their poor choices for carriers in various parts of the world and you get an explosive mix, whereby the end user/customers are the only ones getting burned. That is not just a worrisome trend but also a worrisome reputation drop. Businesses have been driven into the ground for such things, and plenty have just vanished, never to be seen or heard of again.
Not my experience. Normally I got the items within a week. For filaments, in 2 business days. The delays occured during sales or holiday shopping seaons.
I had better experience with machines than with filament. When i order, outside of the sales, the machines arrive 3 days after the order is placed, at maximum. With filament it can take random time.
But… my last order of an A1 Mini took forever to depart from their warehouse. Tracking number was provided a few hours after the order was placed and it just stood there…
I agree, their logistics is not the best since a few months ago. Go ahead and take a look. Some people get their orders fast, some are waiting and yet it’s confusing because some people that is still waiting had placed orders way before the ones that received them already. It’s not just in the forum, is everywhere, facebook groups, reddit, etc. People are complaining since months ago.
I hane noticed the complaints at normal times. I also noticed that there are more complaints during big sales and/or holiday seasons. The hope is that by putting out a notice in big bold font during checkout people are more mentally prepared for the delays. There will still be complaints as delays are frustrating, but maybe a little less
I make suggestions hoping to help, but I don’t worry if BL will go under due to shipping, or customer support, or any other issues. I don’t get paid as the CEO, I don’t carry that burden. If BL goes down, another company will step up to take its place.
I thought BL is doing well though. I would be happy to have BL as my company . But as a consumer, I want to see at least one, ideally several companies popping up to give BL a real competition.
I ordered the P1S and filaments on Nov 29th and also didnt receive any updates besides the creation of the shipping labels until now. Is there anybody that bought a printer during black friday sale and already received it? Maybe it is possible to get a rough estimate for shipping times that way…
I ordered my p1p on the 29th and it only took a couple of hours to create the label.
Since then tracking says that BL send out the printer but the carriers support says that they didn’t receive it yet. So my guess is is that their stock in the European warehouses is near 0 atm and that they ordered/shipped new ones to these warehouses but they didn’t arrive yet.
I also contacted bamboo support yesterday and they answered within 6h and apologized for the delay and said that if it doesn’t move for another 1-7 days that i should contact BL Support again. (Location: Germany)
My orders from November 26th have not left the Bambou warehouse to date (A1 mini printer and filament). Also, the price dropped after Black Friday… false promotion.
So, you are expecting that people keep standing there, on your store page, waiting for the time that notice shows… really small, on top where it’s not even noticeable. I just waited and waited and that notice is the last one to appear.
Why not add a notice right above the “Order Now” button in the product page? Right?! Right?!
You may want to check the door daily for it, just in case. I had one small item that had the shipping label created, to be shipped via USPS. The tracking status on USPS kept showing that the item had not yet been received. But I found the item at the door four days later, even though at the time the status still showed the status as not yet received.
Patience, young Padawan. To get to master Bambu’s Force one must learn to master being patient, more than the average mortals…or else, risk joining the “dark side” of Bambu, with the rest of us…
Thanks! I already got a package delivered, so at least the notification works for me. But unfortunately the printer still hasnt shipped after 8 days.
I think its really bad that they dont provide any information on whats the issue with the shipping. Especially before Christmas, its really bad because some people might assemble Christmas gifts with printed parts. Allthough the printers have really good reviews, the Bambu Lab support is somewhat lacking. Sad to see, and doesn’t give a good impression before even trying out the printer…
C’mon how many years have people been doing this?? If they can’t figure out there may be delays when the biggest sale of the year is on AT CHRISTMAS, then they shouldn’t be allowed to purchase an item that requires some THINKING!
