Adjust chamber exhaust fan

I was wondering if there could be an option for petg to activate chamber exhaust fan if it exceeds 35 degrees, i know it does this by default, but it’s too strong by default, especially for big parts, they warp too much, especially in winter. I was able to set it to 20% which gets the job done, but what about hot summer? It wouldn’t be enough.

I would like to make it to enable chamber fan only if it exceeds 35 degrees, and make it stronger based on temperature, like if its 37 degrees, 20% fan, if it goes to 40 degrees, 50% fan to cool down chamber etc.

How is it too strong?
I print with the default fan settings and have gone through around 100 kg of PETG and PETG-CF to date without any issues.

If your temperature rises above the set point and you don’t cool it down quickly, you risk getting a severe clog — that’s why I’m asking this question.

One useful trick is to adjust the filament settings so the system knows what fan speeds the filament prefers during printing and even after the print has finished.

I also didn’t have issues with petg, but petg hf seems to warp more, and i printer even with 40 degrees heated chamber without any issues, though i can’t use pla as a support material

I print a lot with PETG HF — my entire wind tunnel is made from it, and the upgraded version is built from PETG-CF.

Why can’t you use PLA as support?
For example, I regularly use both PLA and PVA as support when printing PEBA, which requires my build plate to be at 110 °C, without any issues. Sure, the PLA becomes quite soft, but as a support material it’s meant to be sacrificial anyway.

My chamber temperature is usually around 32–33 °C, but if yours reaches 40 °C or higher, you might start running into heat creep or similar problems. You can always try using a support material designed for PLA or PETG that might better handle your elevated temperature.
