There I fixed it.
Really hope that’s not his profile on MW.
This may seem a bit controversial, but I think the problem with a platform where everything thinks they can succeed ends up in everyone thinking they should succeed. It happened on Etsy and it will happen here eventually too.
If everyone can do ‘amazing’ work with ease (AI) it just means that the platform has a new base line and furthers the divide OR the rewards get reduced again and the people that get anywhere are the ones that either churn out models with AI, or make lots of variants on the same thing and flood it that way
It’s selfish, but I don’t like that every week another filament clip pops up and does better than my stuff that has taken skill, not just time, skills and techniques I’ve learned
And It’s not fair to me that someone can come along then with a tool and be able to make something that looks better but is actually an incomplete or disingenuous file.
But the boosts have been given and the algorithm has adjusted already
Back to my cave
Actually he has 2 profiles. Check it out. But yeah, oh yeah… i see what you mean
Don’t go into his instagram. Don’t be like me please!
One hour, OK. I guess you are in the majority of people who are trained in CAD, can make complex designs yet for some reason no one is boosting or downloading them.
Possibly since Makerworld.com keeps adding more features to makerlab.
This topic has been beaten to death.
If your goal is to make a profit from makerworld.com there was a window of time over a year ago where that might have been possible.
Try Patreon, Thangs.com, Etsy etc.
Don’t hate on a site that literally offers AI generated designs and a whole host of maker features for us plebs of the world.
I really didn’t want to answer to this but… Are you “trained” in fusion? Or paid for it? Just curious really because from what i see you create hueforges only, or something similar…
No one is hating on the website. This is the problem of not following a topic since the beginning and i get it… it’s loooong…
No one is also talking about profiting.
Let me go out myself before i get another angry man knocking at my door
after what I’ve seen i’ll pass on the gram.
Still in shock, worried about my daughters future. Won’t say another word.
Anybody here use Onshape, the best CAD designing platform?
This got offtopic, and I think you’ve missed the point. So to address the actual point: nobody here is against MakerLab tools and features it gives. What people critical about “ai generated models” here is a situation where user uploads either uploads AI-generated model made from AI’s guess based on 2d image or uploads low-quality model and in both cases user used AI generated (or deceptive) image to promote the model. Think of it like this:
Restaurant advertises their burger as this:
and you get this:
(it’s also smaller)
Not great, right?
If there was no deception and the image used to advertise chumburger showed chumburger, there wouldn’t be any problem. (I mean, there are other problems, like cheating in downloads, reporting valid ratings, unmarked affiliate links and all that mojo, but that’s for another topic)
As for (what I get from out of context replies since I can’t see your other post) “expensive” CAD programs and training: I use FreeCAD and Blender. Both are free. I’ve learned what I know (and I still don’t know jack) from free tutorials. On the other side, I think the cheapest licence for Hueforge is $24. And nobody’s hating on hueforges either (as long as the print isn’t advertised using deceptive image)
That may be impractical. Whaf if users with a certain level could be able to suspend models, pending investigation from MW?
I am completing throwing numbers around, but let’s say there are 100 people with super dupe title on this forum and 5-10% of that number is required to declare an entry suspect and sospend it…
I am, with my limited skills
During xmas holidays I’d like to study Fusion
MakerWorld offers AI tools to make things, they don’t reward you for using those tools.
They reward designers for their designs
No one is trying to ban AI from the platform, and that will never be possible anyway
The core has always been about being disingenuous and misrepresenting something that a user would download and print, all for downloads and likes which generate points and further the algorithm in its favor
This is beautilul @Square3D
Besides my wife, you are the only one that also said that about that 5 minute model
I was talking about your AI that states it is real, but the model is nice too
Cr@p… and me thinking i was given a compliment
My AI is broken
It (she?) deserves your respect anyway.
I’m not going to argue with random people on this internet, especially when the OP’s main model is a remix of a fidget that has been around for at least a year.
I know this since I printed it out a year ago.
The only point I was trying to make was that Makerworld.com is not meant as a revenue source Thangs.com, build a following and start a Patreon are ways to monetize your models.
I can make a Lithophane or 2D art using multiple programs and get the same effect as their offering. One of way I can earn points the other is to just share, as I don’t care about points and just want to share models.
Want more exposure, enter contests and there are many threads on how to make your model stand out.
The people who have made tutorials for walk through AI generated models and use them, well if they print out like garabe it will show in the ratings.
You will never be able to stop it…
I find exclusive models are always on my front page.
It’s only a matter of time before it becomes much easier as AI is not going anywhere.
If I use AI or take an image made by someone else’s LLM and make it into a Hueforge image should it be unavailable, even though I had to use multiple software programs to make it?
Then again I don’t even know how to cut and object vertically in Bambu Studio and there are a tonne of tutorials on everything.
Different strokes for different folks. What I like most about BBL and the reason why I own 2 P1S then the A1 is the ease of use and makerworld.com is the best platform.
Had a Creality V3 KE then the K1C and returned them and am happy with my printers, and I have had no problems with changing extruders, hotends and other issues.
The cream always rising to the top.
AI models are here to stay.
There was a period of time about a year ago when a person could rack up points and buy a X1C but it ended once the word spread.
Not going to argue with anyone.
Nah, I don’t want my source files to be publicly available. And I don’t want to pay them a ■■■■-load of money either.
I don’t get your reply and why it’s to Botolo and who do you refer to as “OP” and if I’m not mistaken are you xxduffyxx?
If you’re xxduffyxx then I’ve replied to you (AI generated models flooding the website - #174 by Johnny_Bit) explaining the core issue but to address what I think you’re saying: you CAN use AI images and generate hueforges or lithopanes from them and post them on MW. It’s OK to do so! Posting such art is also OK, and I’d recommend using the image of actual print as a cover image to showcase it honestly.
And lastly - a person still can rack up points without doing any shady stuff and using AI in shady way is the core issue here not simply using it. And nobody here is against AI models fully, I think in prev thread on the topic some people found person positng ai models but depicting them very honestly and several people helped them with better print profiles (and tips on making better photos)…
