My AMS 2 is repeatedly failing to fully feed filament to the tool head. Started on slot 3 but now on slot 1 too. Gets all the way to the inside of the tool head casing then repeatedly pulls it back. An external spool prints fine and often other slots do so I can’t see it being an issue with the extruder (blockage etc) and the fact that it makes it through the AMS 2 and the Hub all the way to the tool head has me completely stumped. It’s a motor stall, check for tangles etc error on getting so assuming that’s excessive load on the feeder motors.
Not checked the full path but I would have thought if there was a blockage in the PTFE tubes, I’d either see it or the filament wouldn’t make it past that point but it’s making it all the way to the toolhead? I may be wrong though and there’s just a small amount of debris that’s causing just enough friction for an intermittent tripping out of the motors. Will have to take the whole thing apart and check every nook and cranny.
I did have the feeder dissembled when I first had the problem on slot 3 as there were shredded bits of filament in there and crushed bits on the metal wheel but cleaned all that out and didn’t solve the problem. That and the fact I’m now seeing it on another slot makes me doubt is the feeders. Maybe some of that debris has been carried further down the path. The fact that it’s so intermittent makes it hard to identify the root cause too
Let me know how it goes. My issue might be slightly different as it’s intermittent, maybe 90% of the time I get an error, and it started on one slot and is now on two but not all 4 so far
Ja, damit ist der Filament-Sensor direkt oben im Extruder-Gehäuse gemeint. Im offiziellen Wiki gibt es dazu eine Anleitung (Stichwort: “Extruder Filament Sensor cleaning”).
Bevor du alles zerlegst: Oft reicht es schon, einmal vorsichtig mit Druckluft durchzupusten. Abrieb vom Filament setzt sich dort gerne fest und sorgt genau fĂĽr diese falschen Fehlermeldungen, obwohl das Filament eigentlich da ist.
Sorry to necro this, but was the fault cable the culprit? I have the same problem and cannot figure out why this piece of tech is telling me there’s “resistance” when the PTFE and path to hotend is entirely clear
I tried multiple times to cut filament even at 45 degrees with no success . Immediately when connect my old AMS from old X1C the new printer start ro print. I use x1c and AMS1 for 3 years with no single issues like that with AMS2Pro.
Was taking the kink out of the tube replaced all tubes on the left side.
as for the end it just was unloaded from the right side and sent to the left.
Again there is a problem in the software or the Buffer. I ran all 9 slots printing color pallets on the right and no issue everything functions as is should. Never missed a beat on the right. same project on the left fails every time at color change.
Reset the test model and not a single error on the right, just ran a 15 hour test that cycled every color over and over again on the right.
I even swapped the hot end that just ran on the right to the left. Re ran the test and same thing the right runs perfectly with out an error. The left can not get past a color change before it just starts the load purge unload, load purge unload cycle then errors out.
