AMS disconnects after print start

I´m using the AMS on my P1S.

When starting a print with the AMS everything is ok.

The AMS is loading the feeder sucessfully and the print is starting.

During the print the AMS is unwind the spool as the filament string runs shorter. Everything is fine so far.

Suddenly the AMS disconnects form the printer and is not longer recognized. That means the printer shows me “External spool” and AMS is not connected. Curiosly the AMS is still pushing the filemant to the buffer.

When the print is finished the printer wants me to unload the filament manually as it is an external spool.
The AMS is blinking red on all spools.

I have to abort the print.

Now i have to reboot the printer several times before the AMS is online again.

Anyone knows about that? Please help me!

You can unplug and re-plug the cable that connects the AMS to the hub and from the hub to the printer to see if any of them aren’t making good contact. You could also factory reset the printer to see if that fixes it. If neither of those work there could be a short somewhere and if that’s the case you’ll need to open a ticket so they can look at the logs.

Same thing happening here I think! At first, I thought the filament was getting clogged and unable to retract, so I’ve been manually pulling out the filament at end of prints. But I just noticed my Studio–Device page doesn’t show the AMS during printing. And the error said the external spool needs to be extracted even though I’m using AMS. I thought it was just a shared error code for filament retraction issues regardless of which filament system you’re using, but now I’m connecting the dots. I’ve only had the AMS for a week. It wasn’t doing this for the first few days, just started yesterday. I haven’t updated to the latest P1S firmware if that makes a difference.

Hm, I made sure the connectors were solid earlier but just wiggled them all a little and it reconnected. May be a loose terminal connection causing problems. Will update if I figure anything else out. It’s weird that it was fine at start of prints and disconnected during prints – maybe just a very fickle connection somewhere causing disconnect with the printer vibrations…?

I had this issue for months. Happened constantly. Ultimately replaced all the electronic components in the AMS and that did the trick.

Ive just started getting this exact issue over the last few prints. AMS not visible and flashes red during print (but still works) then at the end it flashes red and the print is almost complete but needs to be cancelled.
Has anyone found a solution? I certainly do not want to place all the components in the AMS.
