Hi everyone, hoping someone can help me figure this out.
My AMS-A is showing a “Drying Error: check assistant for more information”. When I check the details, it says:
Unable to dry temporarily due to insufficient power.
Too many AMS units are drying simultaneously. Please plug in the power or stop other drying processes before starting.
The weird thing is that I’m only trying to dry one AMS-A. There aren’t any other AMS units running a drying process.
I’ve tried stopping and restarting the drying process, but I still get the error. The AMS temperature also reaches around 108–114°C, Has anyone encountered this issue before? Is this actually a power supply / insufficient power issue, or could there be something wrong with the AMS-A?
Any troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I’d actually unplug and not use the AMS if it thinks it’s getting that hot.
To be clear, I think this is a sensor issue, meaning no, it isn’t getting that hot (it would be a melted pile of goop if it was), but even so, the sensor is unreliable so it can’t be used.
Are you using the external power supply, or just printer power?
That power error is totally normal for non self powered AMS doing drying. If you want to eliminate it from coming up, you need to put a power supply on the AMS. There is a bug though in the firmware of the printer as that error stick even when no longer drying and usually wont clear without a power cycle of the printer. Annoying as F.
Your other issues is a bad sensor, or a blockage of the venting. Open up the AMS and give it a once over to make sure there isn’t something inside blocking the vents or preventing the vents from opening, if it’s clean document what you did to troubleshoot and then open a ticket with support with that documentation and the photos you posted here, circling the exact error, and if you can crop out the rest of the errors, that would be ideal as it focuses the ticket person on just that issues alone.
