AMS HT Rants

If you’re determined to dry while printing, then you might as well get the Sunlu E2, as either way you lose the AMS HT’s one quality of life feature (the automatic loading and unloading). Or maybe better yet: get Sunlu’s AMS heater: SUNLU AMS Heater, Upgraded your Bambu AMS, Enables Drying while Printing | SUNLU Online Store – Affordable 3D Printing Filaments and Resins
which goes on sale in 11 hours from now. And if you go that route, report back and let us know whether Sunu did it right or it’s yet another misfire.

I don’t know whether it’s funny or tragic that the need is sufficiently great that Sunlu identifies the need and launches a product to fix the deficit in Bambu’s offering, all while Bambu does nothing.

You need to actually check that with a thermometer. You cant take a temp reading from a thermal camera to the bank like that without verifying it. Not all filaments and plastics have the same emissivity value and as a result the camera will not always produce an accurate reading. Theyre good for seeing relative temperatures, but not accurate unless you account for emissivity.

Mine registered 81c on opposite side, you may have a lemon
I’m in a dry climate so I cannot comment on the humidity.

If you throw it into a furnance, it would register 1200C

The whole issue here is not about “why it’s 70C or 80C when you set the target temeprature to 85C”. The whole issue here is about “why it’s not 85C when you set it to 85C”.

Mine is close enough for temp probe error,
Bambu bash all you want

I had this same problem with 2 new HT’s that I bought recently. Neither would ever go below 17-18%…untill i replaced the heater module.

I had 2 HT’s that i ordered with my H2D and they have worked greeat from day 1. The recently purchased units both did not owrk out of the box. The third unit I opened a ticket fopr with support and they sent me a new heater module which fixed the issue. It now reads at least as correct as my standalone humidity sensors i got from Bambu parts/accessories.

I just received the fourth unit two weeks ago and haven’t opened a ticket yet on it but its probably the same issue. Seems there is a quality control issue with the recently produced HT units.

So open a ticket and replace the heater unit and you should be good to go

Man, honest critics make things better. I’m very happy with my H2D and quite happy with my previous X1C, not because that they’re perfect, but because they outperformed my expectations in most situations.

Then here comes the AMS HT and AMS Lite, which, both gave me a quite hard time. I’m not asking them to be perfect, they just need to be GOOD and at least comparable with similar offerings.

I too have noticed humidity doesnt go as low as it should on the HT. This thread makes me thing i need to do some testing on it.
