Okay, I’ve never posted anything on a forum like this before.
I’ve haven’t used my Bambu A1 printer for about a month. It has the AMS Lite and I started a print and the filament broke inside the tubing.
I used a tweezer, pressed down on the black rings and removed both ends of the tubing. Used some filament and removed the broken pieces from the tube. So far so good eh?
I replaced the old filament with a fresh spool, but it wouldn’t load.
The little red arrow on the filament feeder kept blinking and the feeder would not pull or push the filament through the tube. I examined the feeder through the plastic case, and couldn’t find anything wrong.
I was ready to scrap the print, 2 hours wasted, but I removed the feeder end of the tube and pushed the new filament through the feeding mechanism until it stuck out where the tube connects. Then I reinserted the tube and kept pushing the filament until it made it to the printer head.
Magically the print head started heating, and the red blinking arrow on the filament feeder turned white, and I pressed the continue button on the control panel and the print continued.
Again, I think this forum is for questions, but I watched so many YouTube videos and Reddit posts and nothing seemed to address this issue.
Hope it help. Oh, one video I watched stated if you aren’t going to print for a while, remove the filament from the tubes and wind them on the spools, and then before you print with them again, keep breaking the ends of the filament until it bends and that is fresh filament.
I recently purchased some dryer bags and desicant and a Creality dryer box for PETG, but I guess I’ll start using it for PLA as well.
Maybe I’ll make a video and become an Influencer. lol
Peace
