AMS Lite not detecting Bambu Filiment without a restart

Hello, I wanted to ask people if they are having a similar experiance to me. I can’t ge the AMS lite to detect bambu filiment without power cycling it. Is this normal behaviour?

Would be useful to have a detect filiment button on the printer filiment section to not have to turn the printer on and off again or unplug and replug the AMS lite.

If this is not normal behaviour I’ll need to open a ticket on this.

Welcome to the forum.

I’m not sure if this also applies to an AMS Lite but on a regular AMS it’s important to only add filament when the printer is at rest/idle. If you add filament while it is printing/homing etc it will load it but it won’t recognize it. Until I realized this I often had to power cycle the printer to get it to recognize filament.

I don’t know if it is related to outtage today, but im currently unable to select the filamenttype of the AWS. The dropdown/select is empty in the app. Was working perfectly this morning before the maintenance.

I don’t know if this is related to your issue.

Very well could be this, I’ll have to test changing filiment while the printer is idle vs active. I have a long print going now so will update this post with results when it’s done.

If this is the case, then a simple update filiment button feature request would be good. If there isn’t one already.

Seems to be happening now even when the printer is idle it just doesn’t pick up the filiment and a restart doesn’t do it. Might be a faulty AMS lite unit I have. Time to raise a ticket
