I have been experiencing consistent errors with Slot 3 on the AMS Lite, making it difficult to use. Specifically, I encounter errors every time it would like to change colors, such as “Failed to pull out the filament from the tool head (1200-8015-032113).” Sometimes, I can resolve the issue by pressing resume, while other times, I have to manually assist by pulling the filament gently at the spool. I also receive errors stating, “The AMS1 Slot3 motor is overloaded” and “Unable to feed filament into the extruder (1200-8006-032122).” At times, simply resuming the process works, while other times I need to gently push the filament at the spool to resolve the issue. The yellow button on the AMS Filament Funnel Unit for this channel is harder to push than the others. Additionally, the spool seems to not turn automatically like the other units. The unit is relatively new, (only a few weeks old) with just over 200 hours of use, and Slot 3 has been the primary slot I’ve been using. I’ve already put two full rolls of Bambu PPLA Basic White through this slot. However, this new issue has now made Slot 3 unusable, as errors now occur with every filament color change to and from this slot. Once the filament loads, the printing is perfect, but I’m keen on being able to print in 4 colors.
Take a look at the rollers of that slot. Sometimes one of them is not sitting correctly.
Thank you, after reading some threads today it made me start to think about having to take apart the Filament Funnel Unit, since that was the primary channel I was using. I was thinking maybe gunk filled up around the rollers. It is just the instructions looked a little complicated.
Update for anyone that has this issue.
I did take apart the AMS Lite Filament Funnel Unit. This instruction a fairly strait forward, just be sure you understand the gear location when you put it back together, Although I did not find anything in the unit out of the ordinary, I did clean the gear that pulls the filament and put it back together. All seems to be working right now.
Hi, I seem to have a similar problem. what instructions did you use when disassembling the element? Is assembly/disassembly difficult?
I’d be curious to also get the link. My number 3 has been acting a little suspect. Would like to get in there and take a look.
hmm, mine have the same problem, also in number 3.
Thank you for sharing. Like the computer sometimes need just restart, seems just clearing the part from time to time helps the better experience after that.
I had the same issue with the number 1 where i put my silk filament. Also seems every time it is unloaded, there is this tiny dust on the filament which was in the AMS, so i guess a clearing is indeed required.
my problem was the pin for the little motor was pushed out, so it was a tiny bit of and could not load the filament properly. pushed it in again just now. and i works fine now.

I am also having problems with AMS Lite Slot 3. The AMS Lite Slot 3 wasn’t loading or unloading at all, so I disassembled the motor and realized the motor wouldn’t spin at all. If I put the slot 4’s cables onto motor 3, it just works normally. I checked the continuity with a multimeter and I couldn’t detect any discontinuity. At this point, I have no clue what might be the problem other than the AMS Lite mainboard.
Well this is odd. I am also having problem with slot 3, as are most of the other posts here. I’m in the middle of a job so can’t look at it now, but thanks for the tips on the fix!
Hopefully this can help out. I had so many issues with ams lite slot 3 and 4. Error after Error filament stuck. My ams is top mounted so I thought that might be the problem but after putting it back in the original stand same problems. Then started to look for what was different between slot 1 - 2 and 3- 4. Well the only thing I could see was different filament but 3 and 4 had PLA so that can’t be it. Then realized that I changed the bowden tube for longer tube on 3- 4 so I changed the tubes from 1- 2 to 3- 4 and guess what, now 1- 2 have errors and 3 - 4 prints without issues. Moral of the story, don’t buy cheap Amazon bowden tube, go for the best tube possible. Bought Capricorn XS tube and have not had an issue since.
I have two printers with slot 3 malfunctioning
I have realized that although my continuity check showed no problems, the cable connection pins were the problem. I corrected the pins, and the problem was solved.
That’s impressively odd. I have five printers, but only two with a full AMS (X1C and P1S) and BOTH of them are now having problems with slot 3.
in my case pushing the pin back in solved this issue for a couple of prints, but reappeared …
let’s see how bambulab support reacts on this
Has anyone heard of any resolutions. I took am having constant slot 3 overloads. Has anyone else had any issues after disassembling and cleaning?
