AMS-loaded PETG unselectable in Studio

Hi
I have a P1S (new to bambu) and 2 AMS units.
I downloaded an STL off of thingaverse and would like to print it in PETG which is loaded in my AMS and is configured (color, brand, filament type) under device settings.

When I go to print the plate it gives me the select popup but the PETG is grayed out

. Is there something else I’m supposed to do? I don’t see filament type profiles and didnt see any settings that indicate the type of filament. Can anyone suggest my next action?
thank you in advance. So far I’m almost entirely loving this printer setup and the software. was a good 3 days then a bumpy 3 so hoping as I use more it will get easier.

If you don’t see filament choices in BS, click on the word filament (highlighted in pic) and it will open up.

It is showing up there… and i should note Im using the stock .4 steel nozzle if that matters.

Have you assigned the PETG in the ‘Prepare’ tab? If not, right click on the model and scroll down to ‘change filament’ and select the PETG.

I didnt even know I could do that !
The way I got it to finally work was I clicked on the #1 filament on the left and change that to PETG. That worked but I will remember what you said. Thank you!

This question has come up a lot lately…

Either way would work. If you have the model set to print using the #1 filament, changing it will reassign the model to that one. You can leave all those like they are though (synced from the AMS units) and just reassign the model to the number from the right-click menu.

Reassigning the number to the model or the model to the number accomplishes the same thing whichever way you do it. But if you have multiple colors of the same filament type, assigning the filament to slot #1 in BS won’t necessarily get you to the color you want though. But you can choose that when sending it to the printer from the AMS screen. If you reassign the model itself to the corresponding AMS slot that matches the filament type and color you want (those numbers 1-8) it will go straight to that slot with no further intervention when sending it to the printer.

All us newbies jumping from Cura slicers over. This is much more “intelligent” and feels more “automatic” but at the same point still need to know where to look. I did try searching but my search including “unselectable” and nothing came back

It was a big change from using Cura for me also
