I have been watching it and it is almost always the case that if I have two of the same filament, it picks the last one I added to the AMS. There was only one time where it did the opposite.
But did you test that yet with latest firmware?
I doubt it is firmware related - much more likely to be entirely Bambu Studio (or Handy) controlled.

Yes, I tested with the most recent firmware. And it was working the same way as before, but coincidentally, yesterday was the first time I noticed it actually picking the smaller spool that was already in the AMS.
