I have a P1S+AMS since the end of october. 6 prints so far with just a minor error message unrelated to the noise.
After repositioning the spool it stopped binding and being pulled to the first stage feeder.
After the 5th print, i have some grinding noise from the AMS Slot 2. I suspect the gears grind/slip and some issue with the inner filament hub.
Do you have similiar issues/ experiences or solutions?
I haven’t dissassembled the AMS yet.

In the reddit post you’ll find a video showing the detection process of slot 2 with the noise.
Move the spool to another slot. Does the sound follow the spool or stick with the slot?
I have a spool of Support-G material I won’t use because it makes my AMS sound like it’s crushing gravel. Doesn’t matter what slot it’s in. And no other filament causes a similar noise. Doesn’t appear to be anything wrong with the spool, either. I can’t say I spent much time trying to figure it out, but there was no obvious defect to explain it…

Thanks for the reply @RocketSled!
I just switched the spools between slot 2 and 3 - the noise is pretty much the same.
Please refer to the two videos from today.
In my opinion the only thing that reappears with the orange spool in slot 3 is the noise from the inner filament hub.
From 3 to 2
from 2 to 3
Then you’re going to need to crack it open and figure out what’s busted.
