Another day, another thief on MakerOnline...did they steal your model?

This user stole my model and my artwork, the user was even too lazy to print and photograph my model.

I suspect they have stolen more models.

Make sure yours isn’t one, if you recognise a model of another user, inform them.

MakerWorld informed me, that does not mean they caught all these user’s thefts.

also has several of 29Flo: 29FLO | Published - MakerWorld @DanielD

A few days ago I saw several of my designs being sold on Etsy, Vinted and webs of latinoamerica, honestly I don’t care, my goal now is to improve my marketing and start selling digital designs, there will always be thieves but right now for me it is more useful and better rewarding to invest that time in further designing and learning.

If you mark your models as exclusive, you are required to deal with thefts like this or lose your ability to have exclusives and risk losing the points you gained.

I have to chase the thieves for fear of reprisals from maker world? In any case, Maker World should protect us, not the other way around.

We are obligated (due to the agreement we entered into) to attempt to resolve the issue ourselves by proving we have reported the problem to the company hosting, the thief etc.

If no action to remove the model occurs within 7 days, you create a ticket to inform MW that no action was taken, and they then take up the task.

Prints of your designs? You don’t having anything to worry about.

i am pretty sure makerworld stated that if we put models exclusive they will deal with the thieves… sorry but if i get something stolen i normally call the cops… i am not the one dealing with this. I see makerworld as they stated they will take responsabilty to contact the other compagny where it was posted

Not sure why you are shooting the messenger.

If you have exclusive models and have a model stolen, you receive this the same as the rest of us.

It appears they will only get involved if the model has gained 500 calculated points (downloads + 2*prints).

Take it up with them.

im not sure what your trying to say here but i made my point clear im pretty sure they help us as i stated

here is a problem I foresee very soon. If someone has an Amp, like Fender, Marshall. (not only in the music world, this is going to move very rapidly) It’s not copy write protected, no matter what Bambu Labs tell you. As a matter of fact, if they try to somehow DMCA whatever it is, i.e. Marshall is going to have to then defend their own copy-write.

I’m really surprised this hasn’t come to a head yet.

I found one of my models on makeronline. I reported it yesterday but it’s still up. I also created an account there because I might get an Anycubic printer at some point. Their reward system is an absolute mess.

Then you chose NOT to read the message they send the victims, they help AFTER the designer does their bit and if the designer does not, they REFUSE to assist.

I am unsure how you made your point clear when the facts point out the opposite of what you said.

I dont know what your talking about… makerworld is there to help you out. just open a ticket and write to them. I dont see your point here, other then you not being happy with how they treated you for some models you reported. thank you

They may do this, but, only after the designer does their part first or risk MW not helping at all.

This much is obvious as you appear to assume things that are not true and ignore things that are facts.

You stayed this as a fact despite being your belief, it is factually wrong.

This part of the message from MW tells the designer they must contact the thief, MW does not do the first stage.

Only after 7 days of the designer’s contact with the thief can you ask MW to get involved.

You must also be able to prove YOU did try to get the work removed.

Remember, I didn’t start your confusion, you started rambling about thinking MW is like the police and will be your heroes holding your hand from day one. MW isn’t, they document they don’t and they tell you how much you have to do and prove to them once you make a claim of theft or they inform you of one.

This isn’t the first time my models have been stolen or the first time MakerWorld has reached out. Your beliefs are based on zero experience, my facts are based on actual experience.

Confusion over unless you fail to read and assume you are right despite evidence to the contrary.

Believe what you want to believe, meaby they have too much to handle right now but in my experience they do help users as much as they can. but your right 100% I dont want to explain to you anymore as you seem to know already the answer. Thank you

MakerWorld is run by Bambu Lab (ik, big shock). Bambu Lab is a for-profit company. They will do the absolute minimum amount of work possible. To date I have seen zero times where they help anybody out with copyright.

no idea why your being like this here … but okay thanks a lot

listen to people instead of telling to people.

Maybe they had a different experience than you, and you should consider it.

Hi all, I recently had the problem with Makeronline thieves. After reporting, the models have been taken down but the user is still there with models from other MW members. I quickly searched and reported like more than 20 models but for sure I’m not doing this everyday. Did anyone tried to watermark the pictures? As the thieves are using the same pictures and simply mirroring them this could make the trick…
