This isn’t a purging issue or a poop issue… this happens during the initial heat up phase… while the bed is heating up, the hotend is over the middle back and is already hot and leaking filament and they eventually fall off and down to the bottom but sometimes they fall onto the bed. Is there a reason for the hotend to be heated while it’s waiting for the bed to heat up? If so, can it wait over the poop chute so the leak can fall down the chute?
My nozzle doesnt start heating up till the bed is about 95% to the set temp, but I do home my printer every time I remove a print. I may see 3-4 pices about 3-4mm long at the bottom of the printer after about 15 prints when using pla, I use Sunlu meta pla and that stuff is almost like water at 220c. maybe I dont see this as much as you because of homing after a print??? Just a guess??
No. Mine definitely heats up to first layer temp while the bed is starting to heat up
oh… my bad… i’m using orca slicer which is behind on the printer start gcode… checked the bambu slicer and it only heats up the hotend to 75 while the bed heats up.
I print 95% of the time with ASA so I pre heat my bed manually to 105C for 10 minutes before I send my file to print … Try preheating your bed first to your optimal temps for the filament that you will be using. That way the nozzle stays cold till you send the file to print.
@MIKEKIMC I mostly print with asa aswell. Its great but I wish the carbon filter wasnt so loose in the chamber. It lets the toxic stank spew out around the filter.
I live between two smelters so Toxic spew from my ASA is the least of my worries
Probably can add more wipes to the initial clean up using the start G-Code. I’ve noticed the initial wipe before traveling to the front of the build area (as a check I presume) is where those normally come from for me. And in that move, I notice it only does a half hearted wipe to clean off that stuff.
A full wipe sequence would likely help, but will also hasten the need to replace the wiper. Game of give an take.
I haven’t installed the fan and filter on my P1P, so I haven’t tried it but I’d assume you can make a TPU insert to make it a tight fit. If it really matters and you’re up for a project, try it with silicone. Print up a mock up to make sure the fit is good, and then make a mold out of it. Silicone is fairly cheap (around $20 on the low side), and super easy to work with.
@just4memike Ill probably print a gasket out of tpu but i just feel like the factory setup was just for looks/advertising. I bet alot of people think its safe to print asa or abs because the printer is “filtered”. I know I fell for it.
