After setting up the H2D w/ AMS, the second feed was feeling lonely with a fully exposed roll. Decided to pull the trigger on another AMS unit, purely because I don’t want to wait until tariffs potentially jack the prices up. Anyone else thinking the same thing?

What about R&D costs? For companies developing consumer 3D printers, research and development often represent one of the most significant expenditures. While exact figures can vary, R&D expenses in the 3D printing industry can account for a substantial portion of a company’s budget, especially when…

[image] just4memike: My reference was more about the P1S. The P1S went up 35%, the combo 31%. [image] just4memike: there is still some significant tariff bumps coming down the road. I think it much more likely they will stop importing them entirely until they can assemble them elsewhe…

[image] Krellboy: The P1S went up 35%, the combo 31% The P1S was $699, and it’s now $799. That’s 14.3%. Am I misunderstanding you?

The pre-tariff price was $599. I guess 33% would be more accurate, was doing it in my head.

Ok, I missed the price drop. I remember my first P1P was $699 and it came down to $599. So, I knew the P1S was always +$100, at a minimum. Didn’t realize they dropped it further since. But wasn’t that a blowout sale price?

You missed indirect costs of marketing, admin, sales and management wages (to include support people), equipment costs, building costs, depreciation, etc. You cannot price a product on just the direct manufacturing costs or you will go out of business quickly.

Ahh, I forgot R&D costs in my argument, I guess that I put that under etc.

[image] Neotron: Material price for the X1C is approximately 265 dollars US. All parts broken down in bulk price. Labor depends on the region but pay is around 5.51 per hour. It takes around 12hrs to 36hrs to fully manufacture and test a single X1C. Since multiple people have their hand in build…

You just miss R&D, marketing, support, shipping and lot’s of other services (Bambu Cloud operations). I guess Dr. Tao does not work for 5.51USD/h. Same for the other leading managers, engineers. Otherwise the would already work in the US. and few hundreds USD is now the import tax called tariff. This…
