ASA printing on P1P

Hello people,

I would like to buy my first 3D printer and I am thinking back and forth between the X1Carbon or the P1P.

I would like to print PLE and ASA. So far I thought for ASA I would have to take a closed printer but the tech. specs for the P1P says it is ideal for this? Can anyone confirm this?

Greetings wiredgecko

Due to the fact the P1P is open to start with but designed in a way an enclosure can be made for it, it technically can be use for ASA/ABS once an enclosure is created.

If you’re printing PLE and ASA, I would really just step up to the X1. You need the enclosure to make that happen. The added camera on the x1 is also better and will be better for detecting and mishaps on the print. It is worth saving a little more and just going straight for the X1.

Thanks for the feedback. I just thought that PLA printing in the open printer makes more sense, which will also account for 85% of the prints.
Bambo actively advertises in the specs that the P1P can also print ASA - with ABS they make cutbacks again. - It should be able to print ASA “ideally”.

I like the principle of using the open printer and upgrading it a bit - own side parts etc.

But most of all, I like the textured PEI plate. I can’t make friends with the other plates from the X1 yet.
