Awfully slow dialogue boxes on A1 mini UI since last update

This primarily affects a filament change, which was cleanly done before the last firmware update. Now when I change filament the dialog box that pops up to ask if the filament is extruded is so slow it crawls onto the screen and doesn’t even look like it should be part of the UI. It genuinely looks like a graphical glitch.

Anyone else having this issue?

Same thing on A1 really

I did wonder, but thought maybe that had a more powerful SoC. I mean it’s still functional but it really isn’t a great experience. Preferred how it was done before.

Even I have the same issue since the last update. Has to be a bug since it was much better before

Same here. The screen refresh is very slow.

Yeah it was absolutely fine before, now it isn’t a nice experience I’ll be honest. Hope they fix it

Same issue since day1. I have the A1 for less than a month now, so I suspect that it’s a bug in the latest firmware.

Same here. I believe there’s no workaround at this time, so they’ll have to fix it in the next firmware update.

Honestly I keep checking my printer every day hoping that update available notification pops up but it never does haha

Same on A1 mini + the bambu Handy updates that is Buggy.
Regret to have updated…

Same here in the A1, it’s there any possibility of downgrading to previous firmware?

i can assure you (mostly because i own both) the a1 mini is way worse

and the fact that it hasn’t been fixed feels like they’re intentionally downgrading the older and cheaper products to make them less attractive compared to the expensive and future ones.

I bought the A1 mini as my first 3D Printer 3 weeks ago, last week i ordered the A1 as well because i needed a larger heatbed and i noticed that the display of the mini is not nice at all, it has some kind of delay all the time and it often just dont react, it feels like it has a CPU of 1995 inside. On the larger A1 i noticed it right away that its much faster and better to hit the menus with the finger, it reacts much better without delay.

very much the same experience i’ve had. its really sad seeing bambu drop the ball like this.

One more reason not to update the firmware.

They updated the firmware to 1.05.00 the other day and I thought they’d have fixed it but nope, it’s still slow and unresponsive. Looks like all they did with that update was block 3rd party slicers…

I get it’s their budget printer but it wasn’t like this when I first bought it. Firmware updates have made it worse…

Yeah they don’t want to improve the mini’s usability otherwise its just as good as their other printers.

I suspect the slowdown is intentional.

I was getting the same issue in filament load section a random image will appear frame by frame everytime

I just downgraded to the first firmware the printer came with now it’s working so smooth like it was previously

This new update was so bad it slowed down whole printer ui

Yep!

It’s pretty blatant how they’re just utterly strangling the A1 and the Mini with all their might; whether it be due to incompetence or just intentionally making them worse to force people to buy a nicer printer instead which is a real shame because the A1 line is actually a lot better at printing TPU I’ve found due to their extruders only moving left and right.

It might not seem like much but it means you don’t have to use a ptfe tube and can print some shockingly soft TPUs with way more ease than any enclosed system that requires an angled ptfe tube.

Its like the one saving grace of having a bedslinger lmfao.

yeah it makes you think something else is going on in the background causing the slowdown
