During the printing of a simple keychain, the extrusion deteriorated significantly in the middle of the print.
I cleaned the hotend (nozzle at 220°C, removed trimmed filament from the hotend using the needle pin, and manually pushed filament through).
The test print after cleaning exhibited the same errors.
The filament being used is the Matte PLA from Bambu lab.
@SubLexx, have you run flow calibration at the beginning of your print? Beyond that, refer to the thread below where I detail out the quick checks for issues like this:
The issue happened suddenly; before the error, I printed other models without any problems, including a model that took over 30 hours.
Based on the extruder’s sound while feeding the filament, I initially suspected a clogged nozzle and cleaned it as described in the initial post.
There are no apparent issues when manually feeding the filament directly at the extruder.
However, when the printer loads the filament, it sounds like the gears near the extruder are having trouble gripping the filament… it rattles as if the gears are skipping.
Using the needle, it may very well be that the original contaminant is still in there. That makes life difficult for the extruder.
I usually go straight for the cold pull using an Allen key. A bit fiddly, but more reliable than the needle.
