It kinda matches the P1S, it would be cool if the shells were swappable tho.
4-Axis Non-Planar printing would justyfy the leaked illustration of the print heads. That would be a game changer for non support prints, or a moveable print bed would do the same job. no more supports in overhangs and perfect surfaces. Just a thoughtā¦
I keep seeing comments with people thinking the X1C and P1S will be obsolete, my question is how do you figure? For many of us the current x and p series printers are in a sweet spot in regards to size however we also want a larger printer so we arenāt constantly chopping up files. A larger printer fills a needed gap and currently the current offerings whole bigger donāt have quite the reliability and quality that the bambu offerings have.
Personally i donāt understand the insistence for making a larger printer the new flagship printer as well since thatās going to significantly increase the price and lower your perspective client base due to price. But thatās what they choose to do. Fortunately for me personally the cost of the printer, while a consideration, isnt a major factor in my purchasing it, core xy, enclosed, size, print quality, and speed are the main considerations. following that heated chamber, improved waste for multi-color prints, improved color change speed, and improvements to ams are my secondary hopes. unless the thing is hugely overpriced im not too concerned with cost. And it doesnt make any of the other bambu printers any less valued in my print farm, it frees them up to handle tasks that fit within their build volume instead of cutting parts into multiple prints.
I cant see them abandoning anything other then possible the non enclosed p1p. I would think that production and support of the current crop of printers remains strong for at least a couple more years if not half a decade. And I dont even envision a huge price reduction anytime soon on current models. What might be nice to see is the the new ams eventually becoming backwards compatible though but you never know.
You should carefully review Bambuās commitment for X1 and P1 series bugfixes and firmware updates and support. X1 support ends by end of May 2027, while for P1 series ends in July 2028.
See more here:
if you read my statement i said 2 years, and it wouldnt surprise me if they extend support further up to 5 (half a decade) and id bet there are available parts for at least that long since there are an awful lot of those printers out in the world and more.
I guess what Im saying is its not like they will stop selling x and p series printers in april of this year. I think these things will be printing parts for a long time. As far as them allowing them to use the bambu cloud remains to be seen though you can be sure they will at least work thru may 2027 and june 2028 for sure. and even then Iāll bet its for longer then that.
so i still stand by my statement that the x and p series will be in use for some time to come yet.
Depends on how many variants of each part they end up with. I highly doubt theyll stock 3 or 4 different x1c beds for the next 5 years. Or all the different boards theyve been through. Youll notice this if you ever need to replace an electronic part. We will probably have aftermarket or knockoff support for things like nozzles though.
On a side note, if they dont lower the price of current gen, then theyll need to raise the price for next gen. This is why the k1c is like $350 now.
Donāt get me wrong. Iād be definitely happy to have them extend s/f support and spare parts for as long as possible after the above stated dates, though that doesnāt necessarily mean it will also happen. A lot of things could happen or change in this time, from Bambu losing the Stratasysās IP infringement lawsuits, to technological advancements and innovations that would render these machines obsolete, from competitors taking the market lead or becoming more attractive in terms of better 3d printers, pricing and support, to market trends and consumerās interest changing⦠thereās plenty to consider.
Personally, as long as my X1C continues to work well, iām able to get my spares when I need them, get my patchings and updates, and enjoy my printer for as long as I can, Iām satisfied.
Hey there, we still aināt got any new Infos regarding the release date or substantial information about the features right? Because Iām tired of waiting for something that has no name. Iām thinking about buying the orange storm giga. Of cause just for fun. But that money wonāt be available for bambulab this year then.
Thereās always something new coming, in my opinion just buy what you want now. Build that fund back up and most likely by that time the bugs and kinks will be worked out. I would most definitely steer away from purchasing any initial release product in todayās world.
Definitely true, but not answering my intial questions.
Thanks
No new info. We have all been waiting since q3 of 2024. Or longer. Ive lost track honestly. I know it was pushed back twice after it already being in testers hands.
Not sure if the orange storm is a good choice. Its just an oversized printer from 10 years ago(sarcasmā¦kinda). Ratrig makes a 500mm idex core xy
It doesnāt matter, will come with the new locked down firmware. Best to look elsewhere before they force everyone to there will using the excuse of security
Chances of me buying this, even though I had been waiting for it?
Zero percent.
Also good to know that while they are locking down LAN mode, they are prepping a service for which they might charge additional money if you want to use the printers in print farms or for commercial purposes.
Definitely important to consider when making a buying decision.
Donāt be fooled. The lockdown isnāt about āsecurityā, itās about taking away control from the user.
Iām stuck also. Need a bigger printer capable of ABS. Donāt know now what to do - to wait for new bambu release, or go with ratrig 500
How big? Iād say the most popular consumer desktop printer fully built around engineering materials is the QIDI PLUS 4. Itās honestly killin the market right now in terms of price - performance and the announcement of their upcoming QIDI Box MMU is set to be released Q1 2025.
One feature I hope for above all others is printing ABS so safely you could place the printer in the kids Room. I mean the Bento box helps but testing the air inside and outside the printer with a working tight sealed internal filter system would be, how should I say, comforting.
Magnetic rails would be awesome too as this already exists at Peopoly, not sure if patented.
I think the main issue is the purge chute being open, not sure how much a bento box is really gonna do when you have a giant hole in the back of the printer.
Its not closed for sure but much better than nothing, right? Exactly why a filter system is necessary.
Yep, but I feel like it would be much better paired with something like this: P1 / X1 series - Poop chute door V2 by 4Designs - MakerWorld
It still works ok, the door is light enough to be pushed open by the purged filament.
