I feel it is great just the way it is. There is nothing I would change and nothing I can think of to add.

I am sure it would be another bed slinger type, but most likely fix some issue from A1/A1 mini, like light and camera, with, I’m sure, some kind of AI features mix in as well.
At least a few things, such as better display, stronger motors and extruder, 5 GHz wifi in addition to 2.4 GHz.
There can be some new features that only the A2 series will have. When A1 mini came out, it had two eatures that the X and P series didn’t have: swappable nozzle and noise canceling. By the time A2 printers come out, some brand new features that BL is working on can be matured enough to put on the A2.

I dont think a huge amount would change, I think they are pretty good for the price point.
Only thing I can think of is official compatability with the p2/h2 style nozzles.
This would be huge. My refrigerator has 5 GHz wifi and both my printers dont. This is a step back.

That’s silly. There’s lots that could improve on the A1!
The first things that come to mind:
- 5 GHz support (you know, that thing that dates back to 1999)
- Better camera (higher resolution, faster)
- Better lighting (I have 3rd-party lights mounted on my A1, and I still keep a flashlight by it).
- USB port instead of MicroSD.
Basically, all the quality of life features the P2S got, the A2 will hopefully get.

I agree those items would be nice, but as it is, I feel it would take more or a really super duper new item for me to spend another $300 on an A1, when mine is working so good as it is. I really have had zero problems with my A1, no failed prints, minor maintenance issues, in the 1,000+ hours I have made things with it. I know some have had issues with their A1, but I have had none of those issues, may it is just. dumb luck. I rarely wash the plate, always let it run through is “time consuming start up routine” rarely dry the PLA filament, print at standard or slower speed even on 12-24 hour prints, never a problem changing filament via the AMS Lite, printings sticking to the build textured plate, running the print using the G-code downloaded with the file. For me the A1+ was the right choice, I just turn the printer on, down load a file on my MacAir, it automatically loads into BS, sync the filament, some times tweak the settings, slice it, send it to the printer, sit back and let it do its thing. I usually wait a few weeks to update the printer firmware or BS software to make sure there are no serious issues with the updates. I don’t care is BLs has proprietary software, I just like the fact that it works, without me having to learn about G-codes and other computer things. That was why years ago I got rid of my Windows computers and got a Mac. Never regret the move and feel bad for all of you having issues with your computer. BitingChaos, the things you listed would be great, but for me not enough to buy a new printer when the one I have does every thing I need in a 3D printer

One doesn’t have to buy the next gen just because it comes out. But the technologies become better and cheaper overtime. Hence the upgrade.
All the first gen Bambu Lab printers work well and they will continue to work after the 2nd gen come out. When one is ready or wants a new one, it is good to have the option to get a better and equally provened printer.

I agree with you. An A2 with upgrades would be great and I might be interested in getting one if I out live my A1
There is always things to improve otherwise nobody would buy an A2. My wishes are better calibration which means auto flow calibration, the A1 only has the calibration of k-Factor before every print but not flow ratio. Another thing would be the lead screws, they are hard to clean because they are more or less hidden which i hate. You could offer an additional enclosure from bambu lab for getting rid of the VOCs and fine particles, in that way you have an open printer or a closed one. Larger and better reacting display. Why not offer a larger print plate as well, make it 30x30 or something like that, why not. A personal wish would be 2 print heads because often you just need 2 colors. Since i dont have an AMS System because of the poop problem they should reduce the amount of poop and time or offer a simple “Vortek light”.
Most important thing would be better auto calibration tools.

all the things you mentioned would be totally not from interest for me, i dont use the camera, i dont use lighting, i dont use the card slot, 2.4GHZ works jsut fine for me.
For larger build volume, two-nozzled head, full auto-calibration, H series is the choice. The A series price point can’t accommodate these features.

I actively do not want a different build plate size. Build plate interop between machines is such a huge benefit. You can get five 256x256 Textured PEI plates for the price of 1 of the H2 ones because this is such a common size. They even work in some other vendors machines too.
The A2 isn’t really targeted at A1 owners. They would just be doing what every manufacturer does which is adding features to the product that don’t impact the overall price point to the consumer. It’s like HP used to say about the ink printer business, if you don’t cannibalize your own user base your competitor will. I wouldn’t upgrade at this point to an A2. I would go P2S or maybe H2C (costs too much). I am more likely to stay with Bambu than switch but never say never.
Also a vortek system would be cool

i think they will improve a few things, like adding more ai functions, a better camera, electric filament feeder … but it probably will be almost the same so the price will be just minimal higher… i think the biggest thing ppl wait for is a bigger build plate … like 350x350 or even bigger…
The Anycubic Kobra X is looking kinda A2. It’s unashamedly ripping off the A1 design language and has AMS-type functionality (supposedly faster and less wasteful) built into the hotend.

I dont agree, the A Series is for people who want to print PLA and PETG and it make sense to improve the A1 in any way, in fact if bambu lab dont improve it, the other companies will ! For example, there is a A1 style 3D printer with 4 printheads in the making and it looks really good. I would leave bambu lab for that. Thats exactly what i wanted, a 4 print head open A1 style bed slinger for a good price and i believe in the future all printers will be like that, its normal evolution. The biggest complain with the bambu lab printers is the AMS system, in fact i bought two A1 without AMS because there is no sense in it with all the waste. I rather print a “no AMS” model in parts instead. Believe me the price can accommodate many things in china, if a small company can develop such a printer, DJI can do it even cheaper because of mass. 4 printheads instead of one will raise the price not a lot, sell it for 500 instead of 280, so what. You can buy the parts for a complete A1 printhead for what? 70 Euro? The production costs are alot cheaper. Google for “Co print Quadro 3D Printer”. You can see that more and more companies are developing clones of the A1 and the next thing will be multi color, no doubt.
