Bambu Dual Color Silk PLA

I recently got some of the Bambu dual color silk PLA and had no end of troubles trying to print it. At the same time I could print other filaments w/o problems. Tried all sorts of print setting tweaks, swapped nozzles, etc. The fix? I replaced my extruder gear. After doing that it printed great at default settings.

How long did you have the printer for to have to replace the extruder gear? I have my A1 and not many prints through it and just got the dual color silk and it clogs.

I can confirm oval on my dual silk from Bambu. The A1 extruder gears slip on it and fail to extrude - not a clog. See pics below - you can see the gears tear up the surface of the filament, and there aren’t any deep teeth marks on it. Also the measurement in 2 directions. The A1 Mini failed to complete the calibration pattern print twice. [IMG_2126] [IMG_2125] [IMG_2124] [IMG_2123]

You should check if the filament is oval and the gears slip on it

Same here the filament cannot pull out. The gears then freeze which causes me to take the AMS apart to get the filament out.
So until they fix this I won’t be buying anymore of this.
Will try other filament sources.

Thank you. I’m going to look closely at the filament to check if it’s oval. I have also been unable to print with my spool of duo silk from Bambu as well.
