Bambu Handy android app version 1.1.2

My support tickets aren’t updating in the app. I’ve done clear cache and data and now uninstall/install. Still isn’t showing latest updates that support have left. Any ideas?

Previously it had no issues regarding the support tickets but ever since update it’s not showing new messages.

Problem: Bambu Handy notifications no longer fire: pause and filament ran-out
Bambu Handy Version: 2.0.0
Platform: iOS
Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open Bambu Handy while print is active, sleep phone
  2. Print pauses (per gCode)
  3. App does not send notification for pauses, although it did earlier this year (~2 months ago)

Other information: iOS 16.6.1 iPhone 12

Some notifications work, specifically, the only notifications that show up are Print finished and Print cancelled (manual).

Problem: Bambu Handy MicroSD Card Content shown differs from real content and Bambu Studio
Bambu Handy Version: 2.00
Platform: iOS
Steps to reproduce:

  1. Slice a model in Bambu Studio
  2. Click Send
  3. Check Bambu Studio > Device > MicroSD Card > Model
  4. Take note of models shown, including newly sent one
  5. Open Bambu Handy
  6. Devices > Three Lines / Settings > MicroSD Card > Model
  7. Note that list of models is not identical

See flat white panel on Handy App - this was printed over 12hrs ago and since been deleted.

At the same time some model that has been submitted (Bambu Studio in yellow) are missing.

So it seems random what models are being displayed.

I’ve come across a bug in the Bambu Handy iOS app today (Version 2.1.1).

I’m running iOS 17.1 on an iPhone 15 Pro.

When you print a model from Maker World, it works fine, and starts printing. But, if you go to the device page, the printer doesn’t update and you can’t access the camera. I had to force quit the app and restart it, and then all was well. I cancelled the print before it started and tried a few times, each time having the same issue.

Obviously not nothing major

  1. Open Bambu Handy
  2. Go to Device
  3. Press The Timelapse button in the camera view.

Hi,

together, i found several problems with the ios app.
Please see the following points.
One of the biggest problem is the energy consumption of the ios app.

Cheers Robert

  1. Energy consumption of Bambu Handy iOS

The is wasting a lot of energy in the background
Using Bambulab handy on iOS is consuming 33% of the energy in 45min of use
Facebook ist consuming 17% in 1h 19min

  1. video start

The video should start automatically when you are in a printer directy
I need to push play button for this. Instead it would be great the other way. You need to hit the stop button
Maybe a switch in the settings would be great so anybody could select his preference

  1. video landscape

Instead of pushing a button for fullscreen mode, the app should go into the fullscreen mode by turning the phone in the landscape mode.

So the iPhone is recognizing the move in Landscape and the video is directly following into the landscape mode (wide screen mode)

See YouTube app for the function

  1. Timelapse

4.1 Please remove the button in upper right corner to see alle the Timelapse which was recorded
Instead move it up to the setting (three bars) or add a new icon in near of the settings bar icon

4.2 Also please change the mode of way how to show how many Timelapse are recorded.

Would be better to have like an excel table.
Alle Timelapse in one row. The upper one is the latest print and if you are going down the Timelapse are getting older.
Also it would be better to have a table design. Left row a big picture, right row, name of the print, date of the prints, print time, fulfillment status (down, cancel and so on)

  1. push is not working

can’t figger out what the problem, no push messages at all are shown on the iphone.
Reinstall of the app looks not so solve this problem.

Other information: iOS 17.1.2, iPhone 15 Pro

Handy app is delaying IOS notifications by up to 30 minutes

Much the same for Handy Android. Just received notice that that my last print completed successfully, but I know the printer is 40 minutes into the next print, so the notification is not only late but it generates concern about the current print. It has been months since I’ve been notified about first layer faults or spaghetti. I’ve now disabled notifications entirely.

Problem: the printer option drop-down shown on the reprint screen always displays the nozzle size as 0.4mm regardless of what nozzle the printer is using.
Version: 2.4.0
Platform: Android
Steps to reproduce:

  1. Install a nozzle size other than 0.4
  2. In Bambu Studio, update the nozzle size and profile to what is appropriate for the new nozzle
  3. Print something
  4. After the print is complete, open the Bambu Handy app
  5. Navigate to Me > Print History
  6. Open the last print
  7. Click Print Again
  8. The selected printer will still show a 0.4mm nozzle

Problem: Null pointer exception error when trying to access SD card from Bambu Handy
Bambu Handy Version: 2.7.0
Platform: Android 14 / Pixel 7 Pro

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open app
  2. Go to devices
  3. Go to options and select Micro SD card
  4. Wait for it to try and connect then get error
  5. Get error below

NoSuchMethodError: The method ‘cast’ was called on null.

Receiver: null

Tried calling: cast()

Can clear cache / storage and it works once. It’s very frustrating

Problem: Bambu Handy filament colors falsely displayed as transparent
Bambu Handy Version: 2.8.0
Platform: iOS / iPadOS
Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open Bambu Handy
  2. Switch to Devices tab
  3. Notice that several 3rd party filaments in the AMS and on the external spool holder are displayed as „transparent“ with a checkerboard background
  4. Switch to Filament settings
  5. Notice that the same filaments are shown as transparent here as well

Screenshot: see below
Other information: This seems to affect 3rd party filaments only, but not all of them. All colors have been set as custom colors via the Device section of Bambu Studio on a Mac. I checked all of them and their opacity is correctly set to 100%. In Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer they are displayed correctly, same applies to the built-in display of the X1 Carbon (1.06.03.00).
