Bambu Lab P2S Extruder Malfunction

Hi, I’ve been having some trouble lately with my relatively new P2S. It all started with a simple case of wet filament, then an extruder clog that I fixed and now it simply will not extrude at all. I have taken the toolhead cover off to see if the indicator gear is turning normally and I found that when extrude is pressed, it twitches like it is trying to push but can’t, I have already taken the extruder apart and found nothing at all and the gears are running smoothly, and im using a brand new official 0.4 bambu lab nozzle. Im also using standard filament that I have used many times before. Also, the extruder gear will turn normally when filament in not loaded

If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this thing it would be greatly appreciated as this is my last resort before taking it to a repair shop and spending a bunch of money on it.

That little splat of grey filament at the inlet to the hotend is concerning - filament should never be melted above the heatsink.

If you take off your hotend, is that entire inlet all clogged up? If so, you need to remove that, I’d use a 1.5 mm allen key, heat it up with a lighter, then push it into the inlet, let it cool, then pull it out, repeat until you’ve cleared all the blockage, then reinstall and test.

Greasey / wet filament wont extrude because the gear will slip, your image looks to have blue filament loaded and extruding / oozing from the nozzle , go through the wiki to make sure everthing is correct

Thanks for the advice, I will definitely try that :+1:

Ok new update. I have tried everything I can think of, brand new nozzle, new filament but now it will simply extrude until a certain point just about 5 cm out of the extruder and then stop. Now clicking, not pressure, the gear just stops. Any one got ideas on how to fix this?

Can you explain more about what you’re doing when you’re doing this test? A video would be extremely helpful if you’re able, too.

I usually load some filament, that’s ok. Then I try and press the extrude button on he screen. I’ve been trying this since it hasn’t been printing. The extruder gears will push the filament out until just inside the cold end of the nozzle and then it stops. It doesn’t slip it just won’t extrude. It stops at the exact same spot everything with or without the nozzle. I’ve taken the extruder apart multiple times and there’s no clogs or blockages at all. I’ve also used brand new nozzle. Any ideas are helpful.

Is your hotend actually heating up? If you touch a piece of the filament you’re trying to extrude to the very tip of the hotend, does it melt?
