I have an M2 iPad pro 16GB model. I want the whole Mac app designed for my iPad so I can 1. Use my pencil to move objects natively on my iPad and 2. So I only have to use one computing device to go from design to print. This should not be that hard to design. I use Shapr3d on my iPad Pro. A very professional app and very capable to design just about anything my mind can think up. So I really want to design then slice and print all from my iPad. And I don’t want a cloud solution! I rarely find/used a cloud app that works a seamlessly as the comparable native app. Right now the Bambu Handy app works pretty well for what it does but as others have pointed out it is an iPhone app that was ported to the iPad. This app was not even designed for the iPad specifically. I say all this because I LOVE my Bambu X1 Carbon so much. I have NO hesitation to start a print and then just leave the house. No checking first layer adhesion or anything. I think that having a real iPad app would greatly add to the usability and greatness of this printer. I also would love to see an upgrade to the X1C for easier nozzle swapping. This is really the only change I would make to this printer other than a bigger bed size.
Bambu probably won’t do this. The reason is because I don’t think most peoples Ipads or tablets, even recent ones would have the capacity or RAM for a slicer like Bambu Studio. This would lead to the app not being very helpful for most people.
As a new user of a Bambu A1 mini I too wish for a slicer native to IPad. My poor old MacBook Pro (2011) is unable to run Bambu studio.
Is there any web based slicer that I can use from my iPad that will allow the use of colouring for my AMSlite?
I see a lot of interest in a IOS slicer, and agree it would be very nice - Given that the Mac one is open source it may be sensible to port/build it for the IPAD (sounds like a fun job to do with Claude/ Chat GPT). What are the core capabilities you would want ? I asked Chatgpt to do a sentiment view of this thread and high level requirements - does this seem to capture it ?
From the Bambu Lab community forum thread, here’s a summary of the sentiment and a high-level view of the requirements:
Same here, 2011 Mac and owner of a A1 mini.
Any news?
im only been able to print from the makerworld website.
Why don’t you use the handy app?
Im using it, but i would like to be able to use the Bambu Lab for the ipad
I agree…we defiantly need a Bambu slicer for the iPad.
I design mine 3D models on the iPad. And today it is always a hassle to export the models and start the Bambu slicer on the Mac just for printing.
Hello everyone,
I agree with that as well. A slicer or Bambu Studio for iPad would be really great. I don’t have a PC or Mac, only an iPad, which means I’m “stuck†in MakerWorld.
Is there really no workaround to get 3D models from external sources into MakerWorld for printing? How can I convert a sliced 3D model into a 3MF file on an iPad to upload it to MakerWorld and print it on my A1?
Thanks a lot! 🙂
Please don’t make me beg. Bambu Slicer for iPad on my iPad Pro would be AMAZING! It’s got the M4, so speed shouldn’t be an issue.

Well, the problem is that tablets usually have a slimmed-down version of the processor, even if the processor has the same name as its big brother. Otherwise the energy consumption and waste heat of the processor in the tablet would be unmanageable.

The newest iPad Pro would perform well with Bambu Studio. The M4 chip has plenty of CPU and GPU cores to perform the task. 2 thumbs up for an iPad version
Yes and for iPhone because I have my printer on my friend sent me an stl file when I wants home and asked for it and if there was a way to upload the stl file on to a slice on my phone and don’t ask to look for it on the handy app he designer for the state architecture, TSA design thing
Just adding my +#. Would love to be able to access a slicer from ipad when away from my desktop. With all this interest I really hope this is on the table.
