Bambu Studio suddenly extremely slow?

Is anyone else experiencing the latest Bambu Studio as extremely slow? There are several seconds of delay just from switching tabs, and the “home/start page” rarely loads properly, if at all.

I am running it on a gaming PC with 64 GB of RAM and a fairly recent NVIDIA GPU, but performance is still painfully sluggish.

It feels like every recent version has introduced some kind of regression that makes the UI slower and slower. It is a bit ironic that I can run Fusion 360 with all modules enabled without the same kind of lag.

Yes, incredibly slow, not sure what to do to fix it. Have been trying to find solutions online with no success unfortunately.

Welp, the thread I linked above has some suggestions to start with. And then some more suggestions about what kind of details could be useful for troubleshooting. It’s also in the top 5 recently updated list of posts in this topic.

Timer explosion — 37+ wxTimer instances, 110 total wxTimer references in src/slic3r/GUI/

The following timers are started during normal application lifetime. Several run continuously while their containing panel is visible; some run irrespective of visibility (exceptions noted in the notes column).

BaseTransparentDPIFrame.cpp:24 20 ms #define ANIMATION_REFRESH_INTERVAL 20 — 50 FPS
ImageDPIFrame.cpp:19 20 ms same
AMSDryControl.cpp:759 70 ms m_progress_timer->Start(70)
GLCanvas3D.cpp:10290 100 ms CONTINUOUS m_timer.Start(100, wxTIMER_CONTINUOUS) — started for layer-editing; alive for the lifetime of the canvas

GLCanvas3D.hpp alone declares five timer-related members: m_timer (line 613), m_timer_set_color (614), RenderTimer m_render_timer (649), and two nested-class timer instances for Toolbar/Gizmo highlighters (797, 813). With two canvases live at once (view3D + preview) that is ~10 timer objects in the 3D subsystem alone.

Yepp, it takes 1min 47sec to go from start to ready. Slow response and the videostream are jerky and useless, just like the A1’s.

Version. 2.6.0.51

Bambu Lab Studio = The slowest thing on the planet. Every action I do makes the app not respond for 5-10 minutes. I’ve tried to reinstall several times cleared out registry etc. Nothing works. Someone needs to respond here.

I have you ignored because you make my head hurt, but your report on the github was awesome. I’m not a software engineer but even then I understood a bit. Thank you for drawing it the picture they need to see in that report.

I hope it helps point them in the right direction, at least.

Check this; it should solve a lot of the slowdowns:

However, it does not fix the poor code they produced in the past. It simply prevents the antivirus from scanning every system call Bambu Studio makes.

Even after making an exception in my Antivirus the load time is ridiculous and the Home screen does not appear, switching tabs freezes my PC making the software un-useable. I have had to go back to a previous version which loads without a problem.

Hi, How did you go to the previus version ?

I uninstalled the current version and downloaded a version that I knew worked. I will update to a newer version once they have sorted out the problem. It won’t allow me to post the link! Google for Bambu Studio previous releases, download the 2.5.3 version, that works for me.

Sounds like you have something else hooking into your Bambu Lab system besides your antivirus.

I uninstalled the updated version, downloaded the latest version for a clean install, tried the anti virus exception, none of which made any improvement. Going back to the previous version works without any issues. I will update to the next version when it becomes available and hopefully it resolves any issues.

I have non stop issues with this damn slicer. takes 5 min to load up then home screen is completely blank all the time. i change lang. i reinstall, i do everything everyone says in allt he forums and still the same ■■■■. so annoying. not sure why they keep releasing versions without fixing the other issues people always have….
