BBL? What is the truth about the H2D?

On this page: https://3dp-life.com/bambu-lab/h2d/
I have now been able to find out some information.

But to be honest BBL, if the last update is really going to be the possible price of 800,000 yen (5155.14 US dollars), then I probably won’t buy it.

The device is due to be released in the first quarter of 2025 and the aim is probably to be at the end of March.

Three weeks before the Easter celebrations is a good time, as in many countries money is more readily available for gifts.

After I told my friends about it today and asked for money for the printer, I was asked whether I was still in my right mind.

All of my friends have some kind of Bambu Lab at home and are also expecting a new model.

But after the announcements about the upcoming updates so far, a great disillusionment has set in and there is already a lot of talk about the Creality K2 Plus Combo.

Because there is more and more negative information than you are giving us anything concrete that the community can be happy about.

I have already bought the Prusa XL myself because it is simply taking too long for me to get your new printer.

And then you hear/read something like that and have to ask yourself why you are still waiting for it.

So it is about time that we spoke plainly and got concrete information and not some far-fetched information or the opinion of some people who just want to make themselves important.

Now it is your turn…

Why are people continually speculating about an “H2D” when there was nothing but a vague announcement from Bambu that they were releasing a new machine in 2025?

It’s a fool’s errand.

If you need a machine now, you buy from what’s available now and get on with your life. There is always a latest/greatest coming out in future, so buy once, cry once.

Bambu won’t put out information on a new machine until it’s ready for public release --, that is, they’ll say “order now!” (Ignoring their inability to ship product they claim is “in stock,” of course.)

All of this wanking about serves no purpose.

Don’t wait for H2D. Even the article you’ve posted says that under many forms. The article is dated December 17th, 2024, so it’s 2 months old, but at this point in time, there’s no other official info available from Bambu, so whatever info one finds online one should take it with a pinch of salt (actually, make it a full spoon, to be safe).

The truth is “Bambu have stated they will release a next gen printer sometime soon”. That is all we really know as there is no official information as to actual specifications, cost, or even the exact release date. Anything you see online at present is simply conjecture and speculation, with very little or no substance. Either wait if you’re in no hurry, or just get something that is already on the market, preferably with a few months under it’s belt so all the bugs and kinks have been identified.

I’m both - I just bought another X1C and plan to buy another within a month or so, and am waiting because I desperately need the larger bed volume. I am also considering the Prusa XL, I won’t consider the K2P as I’ve already sworn off Creality as an early adopter of the K1 and a slew of promises never kept as they simply moved on and kept putting out new models and never made good on any of the promises - so I sold it and am never looking back. The XL I’d get with 3 heads, because I need two colors and support material, as I’m one of the few weirdos who actually keeps a steady supply of Support for PLA filament on hand to print detailed face-down prints. I’d rather wait and get the next Bambu, if by the end of March there’s still nothing then I’ll pull the trigger on the XL

Prusa XL feels really neat to print multi colour prints and save on wastage material though. I am inclined to get it just to do multi material print. Like TPU with PETG.

5-head prusa XL will set you back $5000

and if adding enclosure, filament supports, other necessary bits and pieces, you’ll easily go over $6.5k. It is however a very good 3d printer (with some pros but also some cons, up to you to figure out which one’s which and if it really suits your needs).

You can only get 1, 2, or 5 -head models, so you have to choose between 2 or 5.

the price has dropped, it’s 3700e now (semi-assembled) · still pretty steep though, and if you want an enclosure(that looks pretty weird) it’s another 500e

If anybody is seriously looking at the xl, I suggest getting the 2 head and then seeing if you even need the other 3 for your use. Especially if you already have a bambu. Unless you have the cash. It will slowly pay off in filament savings. Take the rest of the money and get a p1s and a qidi plus 4 with it, if you find you dont actually need more than 2 heads.

Probably why they only come as single, dual or 5 head.

Could also get the 5 head and sell the extra parts for a profit.

If you are in the U.S., keep in mind that the added cost of buying from printed solid is roughly the same as ordering from prusa after customs and shipping.

I use my xl as a tool only for true multimaterial and youll find that you rarely need to mix more than 2 different materials.

I’ll be patiently waiting for a smaller multitool machine and will see when it hits the market.

2 tools is all I need but expansion options are welcome of course.

I’m sure there will be such a machine somewhere in the future and when it arrives, and at the right price, I’ll get it. Until then, I’ll dream about it.
