Bed Leveling P1S

I’m not sure if this is normal or if it’s a bug, but when bed leveling before a build i have noticed that when the how end moves to the center of the bed , it’s actually off to the right and not center at all.
this only happens when it goes left front right front then center then back left and back right, when it does the full bed leveling it taps the bed on both sides of center and continues across the whole bed.

Is it supposed to be off center? I know the hot end tip is slight off to the left off the actual housing lock it’s mounted in but when leveling it is very noticeable that the tip is not center.

From some reason i can’t post under the P1 category, the option is greyed out.

@JonRaymond can you move this to Bambu Lab P1 Series for OP?

In the PS1 area of the forum, at the top level no one can create threads. You need to select the subsection and then it will allow you to create your thread.

Here is an example with the X series section.

You have to pick the subsection that you want to post in (ie Bambu Lab X1C).

ok thanks for the replies, any idea on the actual problem I’m having with the leveling test?

I’m not totally certain what your problem is? The head is leveling where you don’t expect it to? Have you performed a full printer calibration? The leveling in a full calibration is for the entire bed. The leveling before a print isn’t a full bed level as it only checks the bed in reference to the part being printed or that is how I understand it.

Do you have problem with bed adhesion? If not then nothing to worry about unless you have OCD.

From what I understand, it’s just a script to record bed level mesh that run by gcode, not from firmware level. And that script is subject to changed from time to time if bambu feel like to.

I have done a full calibration and it works fine and bed adhesion is also good at the moment.
Now the bed leveling before i print usually does the four corners and the center and it’s the center tapping ( for lack of better words ) that is not center, i know the as when it’s done, it returns to the center before going to the front right then left where it starts the 2 test lines at the front on the bed and when it goes back to the center (it’s in the center but its not the same spot as when it did the 4 corners and the center.
I just wasn’t sure if this was something to be concerned about, so i figured I’d ask her if this is a normal thing that happens to anyone else.

Nothing to worry.

There is no gain to tap the same location twice yes? Instead, the first tap is just to get the general z whereabout so no need to be exactly at a specific spot. Then the bed mesh is next, this needs to be tapped at the exact spots to get correct bed level mesh.
