Best Way to Clean

I’ve been having great results with my P1S, both with PLA and PETG (I’ve put over a kilogram and a half of PETG through my printer). However, yesterday I started having issues with PETG. Today I tried doing a calibration print, and the initial prime line actually stuck to the nozzle! I also notice that the nozzle has a coating of PETG filament on it.

What is the best way to clean this off and get the nozzle back to working order? Also, are there ways to prevent this or is this just a thing with PETG?

Edit: Just wanted to mention that I do run this with a sock - I just removed it for photo purposes.

I’ve found brass brush works great. Leave hot end in the print head and heat it up 250 c, then gently brush it in all direction. The gunk will flicks right off in small pieces.

Don’t push the brush against the tip, top of the brass bristles should be at the bottom side of heater.

My next upgrade is to replace wipe with a brass brush Printables
