That is an interesting idea. I wonder if that would work?
As it only takes 2-4 minutes to respool, you could just heat it up and respool normally - the outside of the donor spool will be wound first so that won’t cool down much before being wound and the inside of the donor spool is insulated by the outside of the spool so that won’t cool down much either while waiting.
Then heat it up again to relieve the stresses.

I like Speedy Spool. Search for it in bambu maker site. But there are a number of othe good ones also. Most required addition stuff from Amazon and assembly. I can give you the list for those in US. Maybe some will even build it for you.
