Yeah, the cutting kit was a quick buy for me. It works fine (even minus the Bird’s Eye cam) on the standard H2D. I’ve used it for many things that are better made with neoprene and vinyl. Personally, I’m not interested in the laser function but really like the cutter.
Like the rest of the folks, I am patiently waiting for them to enable the camera on the standard H2D. A top down camera should make operations less wasteful, and easier to setup.
wait what? you push to have it “ON” and turn and pop for “emergency shutdown” ? Thats the opposite from what emergency switches are usually as in “its a big target you punch to shutdown fast AF” not fumble to turn it …
I wonder if he means push to set and push to release (with the ability to rotate it to release too). Had a Two Trees machine that did that.

Yeah, mine just came and it is opposite of what he said.. twist to turn on, push to stop. So, it works like most E-Stops to turn things off.
Camera support is finally coming. A corresponding beta update was released yesterday. So it won’t be long now.

What would the camera be used for on the standard, non-laser, H2 printers??
Would be nice to use it for alternative views of the print, or a more ‘central’ timelapse view……
Now that we have the firmware for it, the birds eye camera looks long out of stock.

This is why I ordered one at the back end of last year when I heard a firmware update was upcoming to allow it. Just got to wait for the H2S firmware to be released now so I can use it.
I bought one as well when the H2D beta was released since it added the feature, now I just need them to update the H2C.
Yea beating myself up for waiting just a bit too long to buy it… I had my eye on it for a while…

Different use. The BE camera is only there for placing your material for cutting or laser and it’s only used for these operations on the printer. It is not used during printing so cannot stream the video like the regular camera does during printing.
In which case, why are people after the camera for a ‘normal’ non-laser H2D, where it would generally not be used?
Because people purchased the cutting kit and now want to add the BE camera functionality
Waiting patiently to use the cam on the S for that reason. Would be beneficial with the cutting kit.
