Boost Farming with Children and Charity?

While I haven’t had a chance to read through all of the comments here, I wanted to share my thoughts for consideration.

I believe that model titles, descriptions, and cover images should not include terms like “charity” or similar. I’m all for helping others, but this site is not intended to be a platform for fundraising. There are many other sites, such as GoFundMe, for raising money for a good cause. If you want to design great models and buy printers to donate to an organization, you can do so without calling it out in the model title, description, or cover images.

I think the same applies to leveraging children in titles or cover images to gain more boosts. The terms of service state that anyone under 13 years of age may not access the site.

As others may have mentioned, it’s too easy to exploit or use social engineering to gain points with low-value models, which is not aligned with the best-in-class experience we expect on MakerWorld.

BTW: How to obtain the lower bar with the points, points value and total gift cards? I’m using W11

It’s a browser extension

…you mean comments like this?

The cappy guy was directly asking for boosts on reddit to get a new printer. And there are thousands of comments from people saying they would throw their boosts at him for that exact reason (antithetical of the boost system)

It’s also clearly an asset rip with a hole in the back for some shoes (could be done by a child, but not really boost worthy in my opinion)

The same user is extremely active on r/openbambu* and tends to hate on Bambu in various reddit comments.

(Nothing wrong with supporting openbambu. But don’t hate on the company’s core principles while also reaping the benefits of them)

There is also one that pops up on trending occasionally asking for boosts to send printers to Ukraine, honestly I don’t believe any of them.

Unless bambu themselves want to try and verify them as a charity, they can do things the normal way that every other charity does.

This is a repository for files and a place to support creators.

Edit: I think I even made a post at the time about the insane boost ratio on the cappy model (still quite high) it was like 1200 boosts, 12 downloads and no makes or something equally as crazy

Edit2: found it
