So I was so pumped to get my X1 today, but after doing all the unboxing removed the AMS,packing, screws, ect.
I started her up… connected Wi-Fi ect. I got up to the screen where it wanted to calibrate, so I went back to Video to make sure I had done everything before running calibration.
(TLDR) I looked noticed screen was off didn’t think much of it so power cycled the unit with the switch in the back, nothing! basically the light on the print nozzle flashes on for 1 sec turns off but the fan on the unit stays running, the lights on the AMS are still lit! Does not appear online within the app! I’m frustrated & out of logical options!
Any help would be beyond appreciated!
I do have a video but not sure how to upload here
Make sure the controller/screen is plugged in fully and not upside-down (it’s easy to plug the JST plug upside down behind the HMI/touchscreen)
Hello DrDankPrints,
Well that’s a bummer this link has a few tips you can check out let hope it’s something you can fix without needing parts.
Oops
FPC connection not JST
As @3DTech suggested check the thread he linked
Hopefully you find a solution easily
Thanks for the thread!
I did attempt to remove/reinstall screen cable, along with restarts, still no go.
I also used the Bambu wiki and from what I can gather between the two, it’s looking like the board is the problem there’s supposed to be 2 lights 1 status (blinking) 2 Power (Solid) I only have the solid power light!
Sad to hear others are having the same issue EVEN SADDER Bambu appears to be dropping the ball from the customer service aspect!
Waiting 1 week let alone 3 weeks for a fix is unacceptable on a 1.5k item was actually almost 1.9k with all the extras I bought!
Link to video of what it’s doing
(Took iCloud link out didn’t know it had my full info in there lol)
Your welcome we all have to help each other
Did you try unhooking the chamber led ?
-
The chamber LED cable is short-circuited, disconnect the LED cable, and restart the printer. If the AP board can start normally, it means that the LED light cable is short-circuited, and the chamber LED needs to be replaced.
-
The AP board is faulty. If restarting cannot solve the problem, the AP board needs to be replaced
Also if the AP board is bad they will need the QR code on the back of the board so send that information in also with your support ticket to save time maybe.
Keep us updated
So I did send a proper repair ticket with as much info as I could. While I’d like to get ahead of them and remove the AP board to take a pic of QR on the back, I’m hesitant don’t want to give them a reason to blame me for the issue.
I’ve been reading around and it appears this is becoming a common issue on the newer printers.
Frankly it’s unacceptable, in an ideal world they would send me a new printer with a prepaid label to return the “old” one.
However it looks like I’ll be lucky to see a replacement AP board by the end of the month!
I know of another person who just had the same problem as you. He ordered another printer and told them to take the old back and they approved the return.
Did he have to eat the shipping? Between the printer and accessories I’m out just under 2k, don’t want to add another $100 for shipping
I think they should cover the shipping under the conditions.
So an update:
I contacted them 2 ways one with a formal support ticket & 2 through the customer service link
Still haven’t hear anything on the support ticket.
However I have received 2 responses from customer service, relatively unhelpful so far.
He asked for a video, then listed a few things to check, in my response I sent the video & explained I had already done everything he mentioned.
His second email was just asking me if I checked the fuse.
I believe if the fuse blows it would cut all power to the machine, I’m starting to think he didn’t even watch the video lol
Ya must be a Tier 1 Employee the fuse it would be 100% dead lets hope you get a fast solutions soon
I didn’t read all of the items, but I had a DOA too.
I removed the back, and pushed all the connector real tight.
after that the printer works well.
Could you explain your DOA a little more did it ever work at all? Mine worked for part of the setup then when I got to the calibration screen it just shut down never to fully work again, only a 1 second flash of the light on print head then some fan spin other than that nothing works.
Well I just got shifted to a different person he seems a little more knowledgeable admitting it’s the AP and just wanted a video with my case # hand written showing the AP startup without the LED being plugged in. So who knows may have a answer by the end of the day which would be impressive
