Please help... printer does not work anymore

Hello,
i have bought a X1C with AMS
i have used it couple times, works great, then i forgot the switch of the power after last print, the extruder and bed was definitly NOT on…
now after a month or maybe 2 , i would needed to print something and i was trying to connect thru bambu studio but nothing works;… the printer was still on and blowing from fans slowly only… also AMS was still active (4 ligths from rols where on)
now i dont get any reaction on the display front facia…
i have tried a lot of things but there is no more life to get out of this machine… only thing that happens if i switch of the power and put it back on is that the ams will boot, the extruder lights go on only 1-2 seconds and then stops… the front display facia is never to be booting or doing anything.
i have tried to send a ticket but this ticket system is not working… you need a logfile but i cant get any logfile as long as the printer is not working…
also i have tried a general email to Bambulab on saturday but still no response… its drama…
so now my last chance is to get some info or help from here… i suppose its warranty case some how…

thanks for any help
regards,

Hi, ok - that sucks…
have you tried following steps:

  • Turn X1 off - disconnect power cable
  • Disconnect AMS
  • Wait for a minute or two
  • Connect power cable & turn X1 on

There is also a troubeshoot for issues with the display : Troubleshooting of X1 series touch screen failure | Bambu Lab Wiki

have you already tried this one, and checked connections?

hi Matt77,
thanks for getting to me;
i have tried those steps exactly about 7 times i guess, i have even tried to disconnect the extruder shortly to see if it was a shortcut in there maybe…, but nothing helps… it just don’t power up the display…
i have also checked the troubleshooting of the display but it is referring to the touchscreen function which i dont have… i just have totally nothing on the display…
i also did not opened anything of the printer yet because i assume its a warranty case…

I think that there was a glitch with the Bambu Handy app, or the servers in China crashed and lost a lot of user data.

Start from scratch with your printer in the settings -

Network Test - Pass? If yes, you will have to navigate to the screen that shows the QR code, and go from there. You will likely have to re-bind your printer, just like if it was a new one. You may have to unbind any that are currently in the app. You won’t loose any of your info associated with you, just setting up the printer again.

After that is done, and the app shows the printer status, you should be able to find it in Bambu Studio.

Hi!,
I think you misunderstood my problem… i cant do anything on the control panel/display,…
Please see video

Hi,
I was watching your video
Are you aware, that the knop on top of the X1 ist for screen sleep/wake? (I would not press it at startup)

If the screen is always black no matter what, I would asume it is broken - or one of the assosiated boards.

Therefore it would be nice, if #Bambu Lab Support would take a little bit more care about their customers…

hi Matt,
yes i know but i was just trying to show that nothing is happening during startup…
it should allready long do something during that time of startup on display…
anyhow, i HOPE that support can finally give me some answer on how to handle this in their warranty because i would like to fix it as it was expensive enough…
thanks for your support so far!
regards,

Remove the SD card and see by chance if it will boot up if not this is the next step Check the status of the AP board led’s

Carefully remove the HMI/touchscreen from the top front of your printer and inspect the harness and plug that connect into it

They are a bit finiky to plug in and it is possible that the harness wasn’t fully locked in and simply popped out a bit

The fact that it worked previously tells me the plug is not upside down but what you are describing is exactly what happens when the plug is upside-down

Hi Kris, did you get an answer from support, unfortunately I have the same problem :frowning:

Hi there!,
No i dont got any reaction from bambu , the thing what is frustrating me the most is that you cant just send in a ticket for support without having log data, i even found some log data thru bambustudio but even then its saying that its not correct or such… so i cant send any ticket…. I only could send to general email but its really screaming bad support… i did not expect this. I even dont have any phone number that i could call…… i don’t understand how this company can work like that.

Anyhow i hope someone on this forum is working for bambulab and could please just adress me what to do and how to handle this kind of issue thru warranty…

Thanks!
Regards

I don’t work for Bambu but I like to help when I can

Did you ever check your connection to the back of the touchscreen like I suggested ?

Hey Kris_HMF & mukawa

This should help you out to get your ticket sent in with no log file

Hi Jrock,

Thanks, I appreciate, i have to say that i tried quick this morning to take of the display but im not able to get it off … and im not home yet so i cant try now….
I dont remember how it was on anymore…
When im back home and find some time i will try some more
Thanks!

This will help you out on the screen it has a magic spot you have to push on

Replacing the LCD High Resolution Screen

Hi there!
Thanks for this, i think I might found the issue, in my opinion the AP board is broken…

Only last issue i have now is that i dont got or get any response from Bambulab yet… so i cannot tell this to them…

See video of test, normally 2 leds should work and i also disconnected the LED cable to verify…. I kind of hoped it was the LED light but its the AP i believe…

Hi all, I have now also written a ticket, I also immediately received a reply that a response will take at least 3 days.
@Jrock @3DTech I removed the display and reconnected it, but unfortunately did not result in me getting back to the main menu. It still just displays the Bambulab logo :frowning: .

Just curious. Are there no logs on the SD card?

Dang it

Hopefully a new HMI solves the issue

Omph, reading all the replies and it looks like your AP board

What a nightmare :man_facepalming:
