Broken PTFE connector part on main extruder

Hello everyone, I’m a new user.
a recent print broke my X2D.
seeking help and advice for how to fix. Any tips would be more than helpful:

(photos attached)
the PTFE tube snapped off, after unload the red fillament, looks like there is a small section of the PTFE tube still remaining in the hole on connection the exturder.
I could not take the remaining tube out.

Does anyone know how to fix it?
And how to avoid it in the future?
Is it because I pushed the prime tower onto the very corner of the build plate?
Thank you!

First, PTFE tubes don’t just snap off. It was either extraordinarily worn, or it has experienced severe bending.

Use a coarse threaded screw to grip the stub of the PTFE while pushing down on the black release ring, should be able to pull it out easily.

This is a common occurrence with the X2D apparently. I have less than 40 hours on mine and it broke off.

Wtf…are they too short and being overstressed? (Again…)

You mean it should be user error right, no way to be because of the obvious low QA and cramped bad design from Bambu?

The teeth holding the ptfe tube seem to cut the tube and then a small bit gets left inside.

Contrary to what was said above, they do just snap off in the X2D and lots of us are experiencing it. My post on the other forum: Add reddit dot com at the beginning and go here: r/BambuLab/comments/1t5slvv/comment/pgmqdeh/?context=1&screen_view_count=2

It’s a bad design on the pneumatic collet. It bites all the way through the tube if you disconnect and reinsert the tube a few times (maintenance, clearing clogs, cold pulls), the internal teeth act like a pipe cutter, scoring and eventually breaking the PTFE. Unfortunately, Bambu’s sensor design doesn’t allow you to clear the chewed off PTFE easily, and they are treating the whole sensor as an consumable part when it’s not technically broken, just jammed.
In my opinion, they should use a better compression fitting like the one on the Aux side, and if they want to keep a quick disconnect feature, they should move if to a small sacrificial stub tube outside the toolhead, where if it breaks, we can easily clear it in 2 mins.

Hey Carbon do you like to up vote me know or you will down vote also Ritualdevice for showing how the design is bad?

Hahah the boys and gals here could be catchy if you state the FACTS.

For me the ptfe came out but in my machine the clamp feature failed so doesn’t grab any more. What a lovely piece of garbage design

Would a riser help this at all? I literally just got my printer, and my first, so still a noob. Just replaced the Left Filament Sensor and hooking everything back up :crossed_fingers:

My first bambu printer, an x2d, broke after 1 hr of use exactly like this.

I’m so upset, especially since it was brand new. I expected to be able to print without worry compared to my old Ender 3 but now I’ve already busted an important component.

I’ll probably have to get a replacement part

If the connector is defective most probably not. But at least it will lower the pressure on the top of the PTFE tubes and hopefully will lower the load, and make the path easier.

Wishful thinking.

Same! Got my X2D two days ago and PTFE tube was cut off just after a few hours of printing.
