After the latest firmware update the video captured has major static/artifacts in it. Anyone else seeing the same thing?? This is present in all files since the start of the year. I didn’t see any on the files from before this time frame and/or update. I’m HOPING that it’s something that can be fixed with an update.
I’ve had this printer since late March of 2023. With zero moving parts, I would expect the camera to NOT develop an issue by now. I’m also not running this a ton (some weeks/months it does nothing).
The camera does seem to fail and my guess is that the heat in the chamber accelerates this. There are threads of others that have had their cameras replaced under warranty when they started to turn pink/purple.
I guess it is about time that Bambu starts to open service centers in all the countries so that people can deliver the printers and get things fixed, i.e. camera, LIDAR, bed etc etc
OR they could decide to use more reliable/robust parts inside the thing. A camera that fails due to ‘heat’ when you have the additional cooling fan in the unit is just bad. Spend the little more to get a camera that can EASILY handle the environment it’s placed into and NOT fail in less than a year. Especially since I probably run this thing a LOT less than most people do.
Created a support ticket for this. Printer is about 8 months old, and the camera has failed. NOT good guys, not good.
The thing is that there are people, myself included who have run their machines much longer and consistently at high chamber temps that haven’t had any camera problems. It’s not an across the board problem. It’s unfortunate that yours is failing but that’s just how it is sometimes. Hopefully you get a quick response to your ticket.
I ran ABS one time. Afterwords, I am now getting “Connection failed [-90]” in both Bambu Studio and also Bambu Handy. No More camera, just a black screen.
Unfortunate as I bought this printer specifically so that I could print ABS.
