Can't pull filaments out

Just connected AMS 2 Pro to my P1S and I even wasn’t able to use it. It can’t pull back filament in slot 1 either push it further. It’s stuck. How to deal with this?

Is the filament still loaded into the print head? If so you will need to activated the filament cutter manually or use the screen to “Unload” the filament.

If the filament isn’t loaded into the printer you’re going to need to figure out where it is stuck. Luckily the AMS 2 has access to the PTFE tubes which should make this easier.

It is actually loaded. I successfully loaded filaments in slots 1 and 2. Then when I started to print, it got stuck. Bambu studio showed a window with an error. Something like “Filament is stuck or broken”.
I see that filament reached the extruder. I guess I have to disassemble extruder and manually get filament. Or is there a better solution?

Sorry, didn’t mention it. I’ve already tried unloading. This didn’t help either.

I don’t know how to activate the filament cutter manually, I suppose it should be done only during unloading. P1S seems not to have this functionality to activate cutter only.

Reach in and press the filament cutter on the left side of the print head.


If this doesn’t release the filament then you probably have a jam in the extruder.

Here is the wiki for clearing it. (x1 but very similar)

some filament brands and types break very easily. You might try pushing filament where you can.
from the spool to the motor at the back of the AMS. roll the gear to get it to come out of the AMS.
then remove the tube from the top of the head. you should be able to push the filament from the tube that normally put into the AMS out the tube normally in the hot end.
With the hot end heated you should be able to push the filament down the top where the tube is normally.

the problem you are looking for is a small piece of filament. So if you might have a small piece of red, use white or some other color.

There was a jam in the extruder. I had to disassemble and clean it. That was an amazing experience though. It’s working well now.

pushing the filament trough the nozzle is an easy way to see if you need to disassemble.
The other hint for this is heat the nozzle to a higher temperature. If the problem is just a chip of a high temperature it might clear it.
