Can't send files from Fusion 360 anymore

Hello. I have a problem it seems that i can’t send files from Fusion 360 directly to Bambu Studio anymore. It worked perfectly fine before.
What i do is :

  • selecting the body i want to print
  • Right click/Save as mesh
  • Preparation type : print utility (which seems lie a new thing in Fusion 360)
  • Application : Custom then i select Bambu Studio on my computer
  • Format STL binary (i also tried other formats)
  • click OK
And then just nothing happens. My Bambu Studio plate stays empty.
My Bambu Studio version is 1.9.7.52. My Fusion 360 version is 2.0.20256. My OS version is 15.0.
    Any idea?

And the computer and operating system would be?.. Linux? Mac? Windows? Commodore 64? :joy:

Hi, I normally create the STL file and load into Bambu Studio. So I tried to send a new body directly to Bambu Sudios, and it worked fine for me. With the Body loaded up I went to Utilities selected Make in the Output field had Send to 3D Print Utility checked, Custom selected for Print Utility and then selected bambu-studio.exe for the Application, worked fine for me!

You laugh, but Fusion keeps my C64 tape drive going like mad.

Right click/Save as mesh, send to Studio works for me, but I sometimes have trouble getting that option to appear in the right-click menu (probably my fault).

I find File/3D Print more reliable when I want to export directly into a slicer, but 99% of the time I export .step files as they usually provide slightly smoother curves.

Windows 11 Pro 23H2
Fusion 2.0.20256
Studio 1.9.7.52 or OrcaSlicer 2.1.1

Any progress on this? I just downloaded the new software update (same as you, 1.9.7.52) and my build plate is also empty when sending prints unless I export as an .stl and then open with Bambu. The extra step is annoying.

Same problem here since latest updates, really annoying!

Have any of you verified under the 3D Print menu that the slicer you are using is still selected as the output?

This is the way… letters letters letters

My issue is the same if i use File/Print 3D. I just tried sending to Cura and the issue is the same. So it seems that it is Fusion 360 related.

Unless I clear all the plates in Studio, sending prints from 360 does nothing. Clearing the plates or just shutting down Studio, everything works fine. I have ‘only one application’ selected in Studio options.

That doesn’t work for me. Even with a brand new project and only one instance of Bambu Studio opened, it doesn’t work.

Hello I have the same problem. So I use the export function instead of the print utility. I save the STL files one by one on my Mac, then import the files into bambu studio

I can’t reproduce the problem on my Windows PC. Is this a Mac-only problem or are there Windows or Linux users with this issue?

Regardless, this is not the place to report a bug. Bundle up your logs and info and start on issue on the Studio Github or with Autodesk.

Once again… what operating system and platform are you using?

Mac OS 15. And it seems that the problem is coming from Fusion 360 and is touching Mac users. They are aware of it at Autodesk.

It would have been nice to volunteer that information up front when originally asked. Take a look at all the well meaning community members who wasted there time responding assuming that you were on Windows.

Must be a mac issue. I cant recreate it on windows either. Multiple pc’s tested in each scenario.

Pc ftw lol

I didn’t understand you original sarcasm. I was under the impression that i had written MAC OS 15.0. But indeed i had written 15.0. But, anyway, i think you could have deducted that it could only be Mac 15.0, which is the only one that make sense.

Hey there, after upgrading Fusion a few days ago I started experiencing the same problem (OSX Sonoma 14.6.1) with Orca Slicer…

I’ve found that if Orca is already open, Fusion doesn’t send the file, but if you close Orca, Fusion will launch it and transfer the file as expected.

Hacky workaround for sure, not sure if it’s better to just export the file and drag it into Orca or close it down every time.

Anyway - I think it may be an issue with Fusion360…
