No, it is normal for me; if I am at your place, I will, of course, appreciate it. Please use this one for my project. Let’s go, Pascal. Go, go, go! You can do this. pls go on my account and take my finger board projet
Hi,
thank you so much – I really appreciate your support ![]()
Just to be sure I understand you correctly:
are you okay with me using your fingerboard model specifically for the Pieksekisten project for kids?
If yes, I would of course always credit you properly.
Also, could you maybe share a link to your MakerWorld profile or the specific model?
That way I can take a proper look and see what fits best for the project ![]()
Thanks again – means a lot!
Pascal
it dont allowd me to put a link but of course you can use it but here is my account @Elliot.Ben
Hi Pascal,
I really want to help you out with this endeavor. Feel free to print my miniature dino skulls for the children ( see my makerworld account @JDprintable ) only if you like them. I really want to support the cause further, is there a place we can give donations ? This could be money or small toys for the kids to put in the boxes.
I am looking forward to see the happy faces on the kids when they are getting the toys ![]()
Kind regards
Jasper
tja…
so…
Hi @Elliot1
thanks a lot – really appreciate it ![]()
I found your account, thank you for sharing it!
Just to be sure:
is it okay for me to use your fingerboard model from your profile for the Pieksekisten project?
I will of course give you full credit.
Thanks again for your support ![]()
Pascal
Hi @JDprintable
thank you so much – this really means a lot ![]()
Your offer to allow me to print your miniature dino skulls for the kids is truly appreciated.
I’ll definitely take a closer look at them on your MakerWorld profile.
If it’s okay for you, I would of course give you full credit when using your designs.
Regarding donations:
that’s incredibly kind of you.
At the moment, we are still keeping things quite structured, especially because everything goes directly into a clinical environment.
Right now the best way to support is through the project page:
Under “support the project” you’ll find all current options, including wishlists and ways to help ![]()
I’m also currently working on proper guidelines so we can safely include external 3D prints in the future.
If you’re open to it, I’d be happy to stay in contact and keep you updated.
Thanks again for your support – it really makes a difference ![]()
Pascal
Hi @ImU
Was ich zusätzlich immer merke:
oft sind auch kleine Sachen gut, die man „nebenbei“ benutzen kann – ohne festen Ablauf oder Gewinner.
Wenn du dir dazu Gedanken machst oder etwas in die Richtung entwickelst, schau ich mir das auf jeden Fall gerne an ![]()
Danke dir für deine Offenheit und die Erklärung!
Pascal
Hi @JamesDaRock,
Thank you for the information, i found everything i needed. I will share the contribution page to people i know to raise some support for this project
. Feel free to keep contact if there is anything more i can do.
kind regards,
Jasper
Hi @JDprintable
that really means a lot – thank you ![]()
and sharing it with others is honestly huge support already.
If there’s anything new coming up or evolving around the project, I’ll definitely keep you in the loop ![]()
Also, if you’ve seen some of the discussions here in the thread already, there are some really interesting ideas starting to come together from the community.
Really appreciate you being part of this!
Pascal
I have two questions for you @JamesDaRock.
- How do you keep your print farm up and running/ do you have any tips to print more things in less time?
- Would you have any use for a futuristic-themed sticky note holder that holds one sticky note and two pens?
I am proud of the progress you and this project are making. It is so fun to watch! Keep it up!
Cheers
Hey @Alweg223 ![]()
first of all, thank you — really appreciate your kind words. It’s honestly great to see people following the project like this ![]()
About your first question:
I wouldn’t even call it a “print farm” yet — it’s more a small setup that just runs very consistently.
Right now I’m using:
-
2× Bambu Lab P1S Combo → these are the main machines
-
2× FLsun Delta printers → more for specific prints or private use
The Delta printers are a bit special in handling ![]()
They run on a separate server (Repetier) and need much more attention. If something is off, they tend to fail immediately — spaghetti prints or no filament coming out at all.
But they do have their strengths:
-
one runs with a 0.1 mm nozzle → extremely fine details
-
the other with a 0.2 mm tungsten carbide nozzle → very stable and precise
In the past, I mainly used them for detailed prints — things like the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-D), Borg Cubes, or Atlantis from Stargate.
The Bambu machines on the other hand are just a completely different world.
They run reliably and make things much easier — which is very important for the project.
At the moment they are basically running in a kind of 3-shift cycle:
-
05:50 – 17:00
-
17:00 – 22:00
-
22:00 – 05:50
Between those times I remove finished prints and usually start the next one directly via the Bambu Handy app.
What I print is often decided quite dynamically:
-
which filament is currently loaded
-
what runs well at the moment
-
what fits the current situation (for example now more multi-color prints for Easter)
Sometimes I just let batches run — like recently about 17 hours straight printing clovers ![]()
But the real challenge is not printing…
it’s not overproducing.
The demand in the hospital is completely unpredictable.
Children choose very spontaneously — what they like changes from minute to minute. And honestly, that’s exactly how it should be.
Because of that:
-
no large stockpiling
-
only one base box as reserve
-
content gets distributed across the delivery boxes
We mainly observe:
what was taken
what was left
And that directly influences the next delivery.
A good example right now:
The first dragon from @hollowmaker arrived at the hospital… and it instantly took off ![]()
The first reaction was: “Oh, these are the ones from Amazon!”
Two were gone immediately — so I added more right away.
And this is how it looked shortly after — we added a few more dragons right away ![]()
So in the end, it’s not a fully optimized print farm setup —
it’s more a mix of:
reliable machines
experience
observation
and a lot of instinct for what is needed
Hey Pascal! Here are some models I designed for my kids that have been loved and adored by them and I know these will bring light and joy to any kids! Feel free to use these models as you wish!
no need is all yours and of course use it i will be hape if you use it feel free to do wath you want with it
Hey @wuboo ![]()
thank you so much for sharing these — really appreciate it.
I took a look at your models, and they fit the idea of the project really well. Especially things that are simple, engaging, and a bit different from the usual toys are always interesting in this context.
Also thank you for explicitly allowing their use — that really means a lot. I always try to make sure everything is used with clear permission and proper credit, so this helps a lot.
I’ll definitely keep them in mind for upcoming prints and see how they fit into the next deliveries.
And honestly, it’s really nice to see designs coming from a “for kids” perspective — you can feel that in the models.
Thanks again for sharing this ![]()
I’m already excited to see what the community uploads to the contest tomorrow. Hopefully, we’ll be amazed nonstop over the next few days.
I am happy to share & support! I always enjoy designing things for kids! Their genuine, wholesome reactions are always worth the time & effort.
I am working on a new “for kids” design to participate in the upcoming contest. I love having a strong purpose behind my designs, so I am excited to support this cause!
Hey ![]()
same here — really curious to see what will come in.
It already feels like something is building up slowly, not in a loud way, but step by step through the community.
I think the most interesting part will be seeing how different people approach the idea — not just technically, but also emotionally.
Let’s see what the next days bring ![]()
Hey ![]()
Mal schauen, was die nächsten Tage bringen ![]()
Hey ![]()
that really means a lot — thank you for that.
You can honestly feel that intention in your designs. There’s a difference between something that is just made… and something that is made for kids.
And I think that’s exactly what makes the biggest impact in this project — those genuine reactions you mentioned.
Really looking forward to seeing what you come up with for the contest ![]()
Feel free to use anything you find useful.
