Christmas contest is like

this is like dating in a club… 5 guys one goal and one basketball.

I was going to enter, but, they are a mess of ideas, insufficiently open brief.

Tighter requirements should have been laid down with a very specific set of what is and more importantly NOT allowed.

Having two contests alone the same basic theme without differentiating them very specifically causes issues.

The continued lack of active pruning or unrelated and unsuitable entries by staff makes it worse.

A better run at the contest would be

  • No trees
  • No santas
  • No reindeer
  • No snowflakes
  • No gingerbread anything
  • No baubles

Your model should explore the subject without using any traditional Christmas tropes, extra attention to unique interpretations would improve your success.

Since someone spoke about the contest… i find it very wrong when people “game” the system by adding a V3 that is the combination of the previous V2 and the V1, posted already before the contest, just to be able to cheat the system for this Christmas contest.

What i mean is this model, for example. V3 is only a combination of his previous models and nothing more. No control at all…

agreed… i have at least one thing i was going to do, but no one got nostalgic enough… actually 2 things but one would get you canceled. one had to do with California raisins and had a very popular all black band as the music score to the… um never mind lol… i don’t know how to make a raisin… or i would. and the other you would have to message me to get… its one i guarantee no one has thought of. but shits and giggles… ya know.

i think there is another post about the same thing but it mostly has to do with the in-flood of a.i. models… saw something on fake book about someone using bambu a.i. to make a hype-realistic model of some cartoon chicks head… didn’t care to remember what it was from but man… ick makes things hard for little people like me… not like midget but you know i think.

also its really a childhood thing

Especially since both designs (tree and decoration) are not his original work, and all 3 versions are exclusive models, but I ranted about that in another thread already.

I haven’t looked through all, but, this model would have been a great entry to my contest description suggestion.

Something different than just Christmas.

If you can link it to the original model, then report it. I did already but as always, @makerworld is sleeping or thinking about it… probably… or they will just ignore it…

Since the majority of the entries didnt meet the original criteria in the North Pole contest
I decided to try to make something that did fit the criteria :stuck_out_tongue:
It’s not really practical but was a fun project. Not completely happy with it but I spent too much time on it, need to move on.

Now this is cool and IMHO proper interpretation of the rules

That is nice and a different take on the contest and also functionality. Good one :ok_hand:
Is PLA strong enough to endure the repeated steps and the natural bend of the feet while walking? Wouldn’t TPU in the whole model, with more walls and some infill make it more confortable and durable?

Possibly but its just a toy for kids I did put 4 walls and quite a bit of infill, I could stand on them with my 235lbs and they were strong, first attempt i crushed it, so i made it much stronger. of course PLA isnt ideal but its what i had in my available printer so i went with it. I will see how much damage my nieces can do to them, but really just wanted the design challenge. Thanks for feedback

I did, it was rejected.

Then my report will also be denied. It seems that makerworld does not want users to be accounted for their scams and instead with this behavior, they only incentivize users to do the same. That guy is getting tons of downloads. He will get gift cards with them and even if the model gets deleted, it will be too late because those cards are already ready for redeem. I really don’t get why makerworld denies a report with more than given proof. It’s beyond me…

  • No babies
  • No naked (or half naked) Santa’s “helpers”
  • No versions or remakes
  • No just renderings (photo/video proof of printing required)
    *…
    & finally
  • No AI involved
  • No disputes or arguments for or against.

How about that?
