Color lithophanes? Check out our new CMYK Filament Bundle

I’ve done a few big orders. When they ship stuff separately, you don’t have to pay extra shipping. I ordered an AMS with a bunch of filament. They shipped the filament right away and the AMS came almost a month later.

So, as long as your order met the free shipping or you paid for shipping, you’re good.

My first colored Lithophane had to be a Grateful Dead Print. Pretty demanding and I think it came out quite well! Good job Bambu for putting together a good package with Lithophane Maker software.

This was the original image

Definitely not 1:1 but good enough.

That is Cool!

I never had the impression that they would look 1:1 of the original

So here is the update. The one above was made using the 1st profile on Lithophane Maker. This is using the 4th profile Solid CMYK. Much better!! It dumped a lot more yellow into it and added the blue into the sky. So moving forward I will most likely just use the CMYK profile.

I wonder why bambu didn’t inform me with that email

I never ever get updates about products coming back in stock.

I once got an update for charcoal matte but only after I saw it was available again, ordered 4 rolls, and got the notification that the filament had shipped… Then and only that one time didn’t get any form of notification letting me know something was available.

I’ve checked spam etc… Unless they are sending it “invisible” I’m not getting updates on products.

I suggest you check in regularly to the store.

I completely forgot about this lithophane a few days after the filament arrived. Are people receiving the Backlight Board yet?

Just published a remix of the frame without the BL logo on top. Here you can find it:

Have fun.

Not yet, I think they (BL) said June… Ish.

I’ve never not gotten stuff from them, it might be slow as far as shipping goes but you will get your stuff.

I cant tell you how much this made me want the litho bundle, how is the poop? Heavy?

I switched to the 0.2mm and the poop is redicoulousness on steroids. There are not a lot of filament switches but the purge is just silly. I lowered it to 0.5 and upped the prime volume. This helped but still, lots of filament is thrown out. That said, it’s not all that much per print. So, the bundle should make a large number of prints.

I’m struggling to get the prints everyone else is getting. Other than those issues, it’s really neat.

Hey Anthony, can you share some of your insight in your experience please, namely what kind of issue(s) you are encountering?

I was curious about trying these out and kind of figured they might be a small headache for a newbie like myself.

I don’t do a lot of the advanced things other users do and would probably need to I assume.

I’m very newby too. (first printer and I’ve had it since March.)

It’s printing fine but I’m not getting the profile right so I’m getting blotchy prints. As in the photo looks nothing at all like a photo.

I’m not 100% sure if I’m doing something wrong or if it’s the photos.

I’ll be trying again this weekend with some test photos.

I am convinced it’s either a setting I’m missing or messing up or it’s the photos.

Thank you for the insight. So it’s effectively printing tie dye or multi-colored clouds right now.

I know personally seeing how well versed some users are due to industry/experience, it can be a bit embarrassing on my end with just how little I know about the field.

Same, and 99% of the time it’s me not know what the terms mean so I might mess up a setting because I didn’t know a common knowledge thing.

I learn and move on. As long as I learn and don’t keep repeating the issue I’m good.

Ahh im sorry to hear about the poop. I thought maybe with the mixing of colours it would be more efficient. I’ve made quite a few lithophanes with the .4mm nozzle an a .2mm layer height and was very impressed with the detail and the small amount of filament used. I read in the post above about the two different slicing settings giving very different colour results. Have you played around with the slicer settings since switching nozzles? I appreciate the info, still waiting on it to come back it stock, I even put off getting the ams this month.

Ha, ok thanks! Totally missed a few settings for 0.2 vs 0.4. I think you found my problem lol.

I knew it was probably something simple I over looked. Well, I say that, now I gotta try it and find out.
