Something that has noise cancelling for the motors lol.
I also think it is the back of the printhead.
If you read the BBL blog post on the creation of the X1, they specifically disdain the idea of multiple printheads as in the Prusa XL. In fact, they say they created the AMS specifically to avoid that. So either a total change of strategy, or itās something else.
Personally, Iām skeptical about CMYK, because the combined colors are pretty bland, and you need a very finely controlled mechanism to blend the colors in real time. Thatās a heck of a lot of filament to keep hot and ready to extrude without leaving out anywhere. Then again, they could be doing something like multiple filaments going into the melt zone like a CHT nozzle. Not amenable to keeping the weight of the printhead down or printing at speed without resonance issues, either. But, if it is targeting lower-cost multicolor, then perhaps something like that.
Having invested in an X1C and a P1S, Iām obviously hoping for backward compatibility if it is anything interesting.
While I have an AMS, I mostly use it to keep different types of filament at the ready rather than doing multicolor prints. The purge time is excessive and the wasted filament is annoying. If the number of swaps is manageable, then Iāll typically do it, but if it is switching every 1-2 layers, then not worth it.
Personally, Iād love to see multiple tool heads and a larger build volume.
I too remember this well. But Osborneās main issue was that everything was sold through channels and dealers, who canceled existing orders for the Osborne 1 in anticipation of 2 new models. Not quite the same here.
Pre-announcing something always stalls the market for a bit. If you think the post-release volume will exceed the lost revenue from the stall, then itās worth it. Hopefully, this means itās really exciting!
@Rom3oDelta7 This has to be a new product. In thinking more about it, itās probably not a lower end, but maybe their top tier. Larger build volume, quieter operations, faster color change, mixer or rotating extruders. Maybe direct competition for the new Prusa XL (pricy). This would keep the current products viable. Unfortunately, that would probably mean no upgrade path for their (what would become) mid-level and entry level printers (X1C and P1_).
x1c owners may get p1sād lol. Only without an upgrade path this time. Hope not
I could see that this is the case. If you break down the advertising statement ā Bringing colorful printing to allā and the picture looks to me like 4 different color filaments going into one extruder. So maybe breading AMS printer compatibility?
I own 3 X1CCās and if they bring out a fantastic new machine that superceeds the X1 I will not be bothered in the slightest. In fact i would applaud them for their developments. It would not diminish what a great machine the X1C is and Iād continue to use them as I do now. The only thing I hope Bambu do is continue to develop and support all their printers over a good period of time. Credit to the likes of Prusa as thatās something they have been good at.
Looks like a mixing extruder like my old Geeetech A20T & A30T that did 3 different colors - except this will take 4.
He makes good points. Hopefully we can end up running 4 ams hubs straight to the head aswell. If notā¦ball dropped
@Cliffyccs33, I think it has to be positioned below the P1P IMHO. The headline says it all: āColorful 3D Printing for Everyoneā. This must mean a way to print in multiple colors less expensively than a P1P with an AMS. Nothing else makes sense. Iām thinking that the extruder gizmo is a filament āmultiplexerā of sorts. Agree on the new product part. Weāll see soon.
@arekxyz Yep, looks like a bed slinger to me . Can you imagine an entry level machine that does multi-colors with an easy-to-use slicer, quiet operations, and at a low price point? Gonna change the industry as we know itā¦
Bed slinger from BL would absolutely kill them as a brand for me. May as well be Creality. Really hope theyāre better than that
What if its an upgrade screen for the P Seriesā¦lmao
@william.e.lewis464 With noise cancelling motors and accepts 4 filaments? lol
Says colors not filament, and yeah the AMS has motors too
Oh I thought you were talking about the screen on the p1p. Sorry about that.
This guy makes a very plausible prediction of what this new release may be I think this is the most likely scenario.
See what AnkerMakeās new V6 multicolor engine is capable of, and youāll understand Bambu canāt become complacent. Here is a video from a week ago. https://youtube.com/shorts/T08axG0DjLE?feature=shared
