Colorful 3D Printing For Everyone

@Barajas

That looks pretty amazing. I may need 1. Looks like it covers some stuff bambu should have done. I have a feeling that the next gen of bambu printers will be so amazing that ill wish I had waited. Theres a few obvious improvements that were missed. Causing too much wasted time and filament. I own 8 ams units so im not just talking out my butt

I am thinking a new machine with the clues given. A multi filament hotend/extruder

And also there was a clue on silent printing. But we will have to see.

Ya but the issue with bed slingers is that they can’t do the speed core xy can.

Since they are moving that heavy bed around when it stops you get a tiny bit of belt stretch from stopping the bed weight.

Bed slingers can print fast but not as fast as these.

But hey who knows maybe Bambu found a

@StreetSports
In another video, same YouTube channel, you can actually see the machine printing in multicolor without actually “pooping”. I think Bambu can’t fall behind, and all this new product announcement is a larger ams and a new printhead capable of switching color without wasting filament, as well as other improvements regarding the noise. My two cents.

My guess changes as info comes out, but my newest guess a small form factor bed slinger that accepts a single ams designed for it. Each filament goes straight to the head without a buffer needed. Cuts out nearly all the waiting time of moving filament. Could just retract enough to clear the coupler in the head without cutting the filament. That would also cut any purging down drastically. Could get away with a purge/prime tower in one. They could charge $700 for the unit + Sams (stand alone material switcher)Basically what ankermake made but without all the shine and sparkle that an established company like anker is bringing. At this point, If ankermake had a core xy machine, they would be ahead of the game with the v6 and material handler./dryer.

Edit: The “not needing to cut the filament” relies on the little arm being a release of some sort instead of a cutter.
I

Single Spool Filament Enclosure with CANBUS for exotics I think they have regrets about the AMS and want redemption

I have a doubt that maybe some of you can clarify… was there any similar announcements at the time of P1S? or something similar in the past?

Unless it can do multiple filament types then it’s only going to be marketed at new users. You know,the ones who look at multi-colour Mario’s and suddenly decide they “need” a cheap 3d printer that can make one for the kids.Multi colour prints are a fad that quickly wears off (unless you’re one of the very few who have found a market in selling them). The smaller the bed size the less a bed sliger becomes an disadvantage.

I could not resist joining the futurism trend. For me, “everyone” does not trigger a component compatible with a third-party printer, but I may be wrong.
That concept seems to be against BL philosophy and an uncontrollable source of issues. Furthermore, their love for Apple is well known, which already used a similar slogan, “iPhone for everyone,” without sacrificing their closed-source products.

I think the p1s was always a plan. But not ready, so they released it as a p1p. Thats why the p1p looks like half a printer and even now they are having trouble stocking the parts for the upgrade. Otherwise the p1s doesnt make sense at that price point. My guess is that the p1p will eventually be dropped once they sell all units.

And I agree. Could you imagine the support nightmare of making a part that fits any printer? Maybe for a company that already has a polished support network. Bambu would have a 2 month backlog instead of 2 weeks.

I think you’re right. I think, “everyone” means the people, who only wants to print their things without the knowledge about calibration, printing temperatures and speeds and all the other needed basics. With the announcement of their “Makerworld” and the little teasers from the last weeks, I hope, they bring all this together and combine the technologies to easy-to-use (for “everyone”) printing experience. :slight_smile:

Probably fake.

Probably something like this.

Could also be the instant cure resin printer theyve planned. Apparently prints like a normal printer but uses a uv light to cure resin as its being laid down. Ive seen a youtuber that made one a while ago out of a normal printer.

Yep Jon had a hard time with that project.

There is stringing on that new bambu printer, so it seems to still be a FDM printer, see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StRvjn-aYns
Also notice how small example prints are. That’s a good hint on size capabilities of the printer.

Summary that I wrote on reddit on what we know about the printer:
What we know or don’t know is:

Thanks for sharing so many details.
Honestly, I wasn’t paying much attention to all media leaks, and I was surprised by your exceptional summary’s content. BL is using an intriguing marketing strategy by supplying the printers to YouTubers; on the 20th, much info will be circulating online that may enhance sales.

Regarding the size from Levi’s photo, it may not be a printer but a screen. The electrical cable seems thin and more adequate for a laptop. Also, it was a software bug.

The low cost is a surprise, but it makes sense if the goal is to get more newcomers (everyone)… If so, BL must expect increased demand for customer support services. I hope that they are considering it.
