Considering an H2S

I am thinking about buying an H2S to replace my Qidi Plus 4 that bricked suddenly at roughly 2 years of use. I have an A1 and I like it. The H2S has the build volume and heated chamber that I need for ASA prints but I am concerned after reading comments about heat creep, abnormally high chamber temperature alarms and extruder clogs when printing PETG and the process to resolve it. I would like to hear from some H2S users about their experience and what I should expect if I decide to buy one.

Thanks in advance for your time

h2d owner… no such issues.

I will say though that it might make sense to wait until the h3/p3 series is announced. Then either consider an h3c OR get the H2S discounted.

People complain about their issues.

Lots of issues are down to user error.

It isn’t noteworthy when a print goes as expected.

Two posts really shouldn’t be compelling data points in your purchase decision, particularly when one has nowhere near enough info and OP never reported back on the end result.

That said, wait until after Nov. 3 before making any decisions.

Abnormal chamber temperature can only be lemon units. Two H2S, combined 2000+ hours, never seen it. Again, if the reports concern you, just make sure you are able to pack & return on time (instead of leaving it unopened past the date)

PETGs alone have 1000+ hours on mine, never clogged. Clogs are nasty but usually user errors, or compounded from kept trying to print before fixing a machine (say, loose nozzles, bed that needs tramming)

I also had a QIDI Plus 4 that I bought from a friend. It had a problem with the mounting of the print head. I got a new mount from QIDI and glued it on newly, then it worked. As the QIDI box was not available I sold it. Before that I already bought the H2S. It is a much better printer. Now I have about 1000 hours on it. Printer works very well, but I should have bought the H2D as I miss a second nozzle for a separation layer for support. Prints perfectly. Most thing I print with PETG (Elegoo Rapid PETG, BambuLab PETG HF and now Basic) and QIDI ASA. QIDI ASA is very good to print - no warping and good adhesion. As well for PC CF it is very to use. I bought some eSun PC CF for some Rasperry Pi KVM for which ASA is not optimal as is weakens when the RPI is fully utililized.

@CarbonForge Thanks for your reply and noted. What’s important about November 3rd?

H3C announcement and maybe more

Noted, thank you for your reply

I had my eye on the H2S for a long time, but earlier this year bought the H2D when it went on sale. It depends on your use case, but having the second nozzle is nice. I have a few hundred hours on it with no issues at all with a mix of PLA and engineering materials.

At this point I would wait for Bambu’s new releases and see where things stand.
